(Got a prompt for Hailey getting her wisdom teeth out and another prompt for her being embarrassed about making a mess in the truck, so I decided to combine the two! Set in late season 6, and I am basing some of this off my experience when I got my wisdom teeth out last April)
——
Hailey walked into work late on a Thursday in April, looking frazzled. She went right up to Jay and asked him to follow her to the locker room. He followed, confused.

She shut the door and started pacing, ringing her hands and pulling her fingers, something she did when she was stressed.

"Hails, what's wrong?" He asked, leaning against the lockers.

"Um, I went to the dentist today for a routine cleaning, and they did xrays. Next thing I know, I'm being sent to see an oral surgeon and have more scans done. I have to get my wisdom teeth out Monday, and I really, really don't want to. I hate surgery anyway, you know that, but mouth pain is worse and I'd been able to avoid it for so long because it scares me so much. But the root of one of them is close to hitting a nerve and causing permanent damage. I hate to do this, but will you please come with me and stay with me next week? I don't really have anyone else to ask," she looked up at him hesitantly and he saw she was fighting tears.

"Of course, Hails. Don't worry about being alone after it, I won't leave. And hey, it's not as bad as you think. I promise, it'll be okay," he said, hoping to ease her nerves.

"Thank you," Hailey stepped forward and hugged him, and he felt her start to cry.

"Shh, It's what partners do, Hailey. I know you're nervous, I'm sorry you're so worried about this, but I promise you, it'll be okay. We'll get you ice cream and smoothies and mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and any other soft food you want. We'll just chill and watch movies, it'll be good, you're gonna be okay," he kept his tone light and rubbed her back.

She pulled away and wiped her face then went and splashed it with cold water. "Thank you," she sighed, looking up at him.

"Anytime, Hailey. Are you ready to get to work?" She nodded and they walked back to the bull pen.

"I need to go tell Voight," she sighed and turned towards his office, knocking before entering.

"Where you been, Upton?" He asked.

"I had a dentist appointment that was supposed to end before work, but then they sent me for an emergency consultation with an oral surgeon. I have to have my wisdom teeth removed on Monday or I may have nerve damage. I'm gonna need a week or so, and I need Jay to stay with me for at least three days, I really don't do well with anesthesia and this really freaks me out," she told her boss.

Hank watched her as she spoke and could practically feel the anxiety radiating from her. She looked terrified. "Hailey, don't worry about work next week. It's okay, and Jay can stay with you. I know you aren't supposed to be alone right after the surgery and you're not close with any family. However long you need him," she nodded.

"Thanks, sarge," she said and then went to work.

Jay went to Hailey's house on Sunday night to stay with her, she'd been so anxious all day and he knew she needed someone there to help calm her down or she'd work herself up so much she'd throw up. She'd actually done that on Sunday morning and that's when Jay decided he'd go stay with her that night.

She was shaking with nerves when she answered the door and he frowned. "Okay, come on, let's go eat this pizza and watch something until you calm down enough to go to sleep. I get it, I hate surgery too and I was terrified about getting mine removed. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, you just have to follow the instructions the doctor gives you. You're going to be okay," Jay said and she nodded slowly.
