(I got a request for Hailey and Jay's daughter getting sick and then Hailey gets sick, too, and for her name to be Meghan. So, this one is unrelated to anything with Oakley, hope y'all enjoy! Also, I'm pretending Natalie never left and she and Will are married. One more thing, with requests for stuff with Oakley, she doesn't have to be a baby, she can be a toddler or older ages, too!)

Twelve year old Meghan Halstead wanted to cry as soon as her alarm went off. Her ears and throat felt like knives were in in them every time she swallowed or moved her mouth. She felt like she'd been hit by a bus. She could hear her parents moving around downstairs, so she got out of bed and headed down to the kitchen.

"Mama," she said as she walked towards her mom, whimpering at the pain in her throat.

"Meghan, baby, what's wrong?" Hailey put down the apple she was slicing and wiped her hands on a towel as she walked over to her daughter.

"I don't feel good," she sniffed, bright green eyes filling with tears. Meghan had her mom's skin, blonde waves, height, and dimples, but she had her dad's eyes and freckles. She was a perfect mix of Jay and Hailey, and was on the smaller side for twelve. Most people thought she was nine or 10.

Hailey frowned and felt Meghan's forehead. "You don't have a fever, Megs. What's not feeling good?" She asked, looking her over.

"My throat and ears. Mommy, I don't feel good," she stepped forward and buried her face in her mom's chest as she started crying.

Hailey wrapped her arms around her and started to sway. This wasn't normal for Meghan, she wasn't much of a crier and she never called Hailey "mommy" unless something was wrong. She wasn't sure of what to do, Meghan didn't have fever, so it could just be allergies, and she and Jay had to be in court that morning. They couldn't miss it.

"Baby, let's get some Tylenol and a cough drop before you eat something, okay," Hailey suggested and Megan looked up at her and nodded.

She sat down at the island and put her head down while Hailey got the medicine and a yogurt out. "Megs, try to eat this, I'm gonna go talk to dad," Meghan nodded as Hailey kissed her head and started eating the yogurt.

Hailey sighed as she walked into she and Jay's room. "What's wrong?" He asked from the bathroom where he was shaving.

"Meghan doesn't feel good. Her throat and ears hurt really bad, but she doesn't feel warm. We both have court today and then you have that meeting at headquarters, we literally can't miss work, what should we do?" Hailey sat on their bed as she spoke.

"She was worried about her math test, are you sure it's not that?" He asked.

"She called me mommy and started crying, she's not faking. What do we do?" Jay finished shaving and wiped his face off then went and sat next to Hailey.

"She doesn't have fever?" Hailey shook her head. "Court will be over by 10:00, I hate to do this with her not feeling good, but I think we need to send her to school until you get done and then take her to Nat," he suggested.

"Yeah, I'll go talk to her. She hasn't even asked to stay home, all she said was that she didn't feel good and her throat and ears hurt," Jay nodded and kissed Hailey's head before he went to finish getting ready.

"Megs, how's the yogurt?" Meghan shrugged.

"Alright, baby, here's the deal. I can see that you don't feel good, but you don't have fever, and dad and I have to be in court this morning. We need you to go to school just for the morning, I'll be done by 10:00 and come get you, then we'll go see aunt Natalie. Can you do that?" Hailey asked as she stroked Meghan's hair.
