(Was able to knock this one out during a few hours i had off yesterday!!! I'll hopefully get another one or two out in the next couple weeks, but I'm nannying for the camp director right now and campers arrive Sunday so i will have less down time. I got a request for Hailey starting her period at Jay's apartment early in their relationship and being super embarrassed about it. So, set season 8, before episode 11)
——
Hailey woke up and groaned slightly. She was at Jay's apartment, and she was cramping horribly. She sat up and got out of bed, but froze when she felt something sticky on her legs. She looked down and turned to see a patch of blood on Jay's sheets. She was mortified.
She felt the tears building in her eyes and her hands started to shake. They'd only been together five weeks. He was bound to break up with her, which she really didn't want. Jay was asleep next to her and he was a light sleeper.
Hailey very carefully got out of bed and grabbed her bag as she rushed to the bathroom to change. She hoped Jay wouldn't wake up before she was done, or that he just wouldn't notice if he did.
Jay woke up when the bathroom door closed. It was early, so he was kind of surprised Hailey was awake. He sat up and noticed a dark spot on her side of the bed, so he turned the lamp on. His eyes widened when he saw the blood. At first, he panicked, but then he realized where it was and what it probably was.
He heard a sniffle from the bathroom and knew Hailey must be embarrassed. He got up and knocked on the door. "Hail, let me in, please."
"Give me a minute," Hailey sniffed as she brushed her hair. She'd already cleaned herself off and changed into her clothes for work.
"Okay," Jay went ahead and took the sheet off the bed and put it in the wash, but he didn't start it yet, he wanted to get Hailey's clothes in there too.
Hailey's eyes filled with tears when she saw Jay had stripped the bed. He knew. She was beyond mortified, and she wasn't feeling very good anyway so she was emotional.
"Hey, do you want me to wash your clothes?" Jay asked when he saw her.
Hailey stared at him as her cheeks reddened. "I can," she mumbled, looking away. "I'm so sorry. I didn't know it was about to happen or I wouldn't have stayed here. I'm so gross!" Hailey huffed, fighting her tears.
Jay's eyes widened. "Hailey, no. Stop, you're not gross. I'm not mad, I promise. It's okay," He insisted, hugging her to him.
"It's embarrassing! I'm just gonna go, I'm sorry. I ruined things," Hailey turned to leave as a few tears slipped down her cheeks but Jay stopped her.
"Hailey, you did not ruin things. Everything is okay. I get that you're embarrassed, but it's okay. I promise, Hails. Nothing is ruined. It's all okay, babe. I promise," Jay told her, holding eye contact with her as he spoke. He watched her lower lip tremble as tears slipped down her cheeks.
"Really?" She asked, amazed and confused.
"Really. C'mere," Jay pulled her into a hug and she hid her face in his chest. She was amazed by Jay. Most men would be grossed out by their girlfriends starting their period in their bed, especially so early in a relationship. But Jay wasn't, and he was being so sweet about it.
Jay kissed the top of her head and she pulled away to wipe her cheeks. "It's so embarrassing though, and I'm really sorry. If it doesn't come out, I'll buy you new sheets."
"Don't worry about it, Hailey. Please. I get that you're embarrassed, but you don't need to be. It's not like you did it on purpose. Everything is okay, we're okay. I promise," Hailey smiled a little and Jay kissed her.
"Do you want to go throw your clothes in with the sheet?" He asked and she nodded a little before getting them out of her duffle and taking them to the laundry room.
Jay started the wash and Hailey went to find some ibuprofen. "Are you feeling okay?" He asked after she took the pills.
Hailey nodded but he gave her a look and she frowned as she blushed. He knew her so well.
"I'm okay. Not great, but I'm okay," she shrugged and sat down.
"How can I help?" He walked over and hugged her.
"There's really not much you can do. But thank you for being so amazing. It's stupid, but i was so scared you were going to be disgusted and want nothing to do with me ever again," she admitted sheepishly.
"Hailey Anne, I could never be disgusted by you. I promise. You don't need to worry about me leaving you. Especially over something you can't control. Please try and believe that," Jay told her as he rubbed her back.
Hailey's eyes glistened with tears and she hugged him. She couldn't help but shed a few tears before she pulled away. She was cramping horribly, her head hurt, and she was slightly nauseous. But Jay wasn't disgusted by her and he was showing that he really cared about her, which made her happy.
"What do you want for breakfast? I just need to get ready super fast," Jay asked.
"I'm really not hungry," she told him.
"You gotta have something, Hails," she frowned.
"I know, but it hurts really bad and I'm not feeling amazing," she looked up at him as she spoke.
"I'm so sorry, I wish I could make it better. Do you want to lay down while I get ready? Then at least try and eat some toast," Jay suggested, worried about her.
"Okay," Hailey went and curled up on the couch whole Jay went and got ready for work.
Once he was ready, they went to a cafe down the street and got breakfast and coffee to-go. Hailey ate most of a piece of toast before she had to stop. Then she kept her eyes closed until they got to the district. Jay was worried about her throughout the day and checked in on how she was feeling until the headache and nausea went away.
Unfortunately, her cramps came back with a vengeance ag the end of the day and she could hardly stand up from the pain. They went back to her house after work and Jay ordered dinner while Hailey went and stood in a hot shower. That night, Jay held her as she was curled up with a heating pad and he played with her hair until she finally fell asleep.
