(Set season 8!)

Hailey felt absolutely exhausted as she walked up the stairs with the team after arresting a perp. She'd been the one to tackle and apprehend the guy, and now she felt like she could sleep forever. All her energy was gone and she dropped to her desk chair and put her head down.

"Hail?" Kim asked, putting a hand on her back.

"Unh," Hailey grunted.

"Are you okay?" Kim asked.

"M fine," Hailey mumbled but didn't lift her head up until Voight came upstairs.

She didn't know why she was suddenly bone tired. This wasn't normal, even when she'd had a cold a week and a half before she didn't feel this tired so fast. She went to go get coffee and sat down in the break room.

Jay noticed her change in demeanor and followed her. "What's wrong?" He asked, sitting beside her. She dropped her head to his shoulder.

"I'm so tired. It came on so suddenly," she sighed.

"Do you feel okay?" He asked, feeling her forehead. "You feel a little warm."

"I feel fine I'm just tired," she shrugged. "I know it's not the virus, my test yesterday was negative."

"Do you want to go home?"

"No," Jay kissed her head and they went back into the bullpen.

Hailey fell asleep as soon as they got home that night and was fine in the morning. This cycle continued for a couple of days and then Hailey rested all weekend and was fine.

Well, she thought she was fine. Halfway through the next week, her throat started to bother her and she was getting fevers again very randomly. Jay took her to get tested and she was negative.

She kept working but would get really tired and the whole unit was worried about her. Hailey was often falling asleep at her desk and would be startled when someone would wake her. Jay was especially worried, and that only increased as he watched her interrogate a suspect.

Hailey wasn't normally super emotional, but when the suspect suddenly started screaming at her about how she was a stupid bitch for thinking he did it, she ran out of the interrogation room in tears and crashed into Jay.

"Halstead, take her home," Voight whispered.

Jay nodded and led Hailey to the locker room to calm her down before they went home. She was embarrassed and had another fever, so she took some Tylenol and cuddled up with Jay, watching Harry Potter and eating a fruit bar.

"You know he was wrong, right?" He asked.

"I guess. I'm just tired and emotional and I'm so sick of this," she sniffed.

"I know, baby. Do you want to go see Will?"

"No, I just need good sleep," she insisted.

"Alright," Jay rubbed her back until she fell asleep on him.

Hailey slept the whole night and was okay the whole next day, which made her happy. But then the day after, Wednesday, she was a complete mess and started to feel really sick. She was dizzy and her head hurt, and every little thing had her crying.

"Hail, what's going on?" Kim asked when she found Hailey crying in the locker room after she'd been wrong about a suspect.

"I don't know, but I really hate it and I'm dizzy and I just threw up and now my ears feel weird," Hailey cried. "And I don't know why the hell I'm crying!" She was mad now.

"Hey, it's okay. Sometimes we're just off, that's alright. Do you have fever again?" Kim felt Hailey's forehead, she wasn't warm, which was good.

"Kim, I hate this," she sniffed.
