(This is a few requests thrown into one. Hailey's parents show up while Jay is gone and it doesn't go well, then the family drama increases, as do Hailey's distress and anxiety. Thankfully, the team (plus Vanessa) is very supportive of their girl.)

Nine months after Jay left, with limited but good contact, Hailey was sitting in the bullpen alone when she heard the gate buzz and open and two pairs of footsteps could be heard coming up the stairs. She knew it wasn't Trudy, she was at a conference for the morning.
"Hailey Anne! You got married and didn't tell us, or invite us?!" Hailey froze. Her heart fell to her stomach, her whole body tensed, and she broke out into a cold sweat as she tried not to vomit out of sheer terror. Her father was at the district, in the bull pen. How?!
She took a deep breath and stood up. "Yes, I got married. How did you find out? And no one was invited, don't take it personally. You are not welcome here, please leave," she spoke calmly as she looked at both her parents. She missed her mom, but it was nearly impossible to have a relationship with her without her father destroying it.
"Is he good to you?" Her mom quietly asked.
Hailey nodded. "He's my best friend."
"If he's so good, why can't we meet him?" Her father asked, moving closer to Hailey.
"He's not here. Please leave," Hailey insisted, but her dad didn't listen.
"Greg, let's go," her mom tried but he ignored her.
"Tell me about this man, Hailey," he demanded.
"Fine. He's a veteran, a damn good detective, an amazing husband, he doesn't hurt me, and he's a much better man and husband than you'll ever be! Now leave before i have you escorted out!" Hailey ordered. She could barely react before she was knocked to the ground, her left cheek and eye throbbing.
"DONT EVER SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT AGAIN!" He yelled and Hailey stood up and pushed him back as she yelled for backup.
This seemed to scare her dad and he quickly grabbed her mom's hand and dragged her out of the bullpen before he could get in trouble. As soon as they were gone, Hailey broke down and grabbed her phone as she went into the break room.
She tried calling Jay, but he didn't answer, which only upset her more. She wanted him, no she needed him. She was so caught up in her shock and fear that she didn't hear the team come back, or the door open, or footsteps, until Kevin and Vanessa were infront of her, effectively startling her.
"It's just us, Hail, it's just us," Kevin stepped back and held his hands up in surrender, but Hailey flinched away and cowered in fear. Vanessa had seen Hailey scared like this before, and it usually meant something happened with her family.
"Hailey, what happened?" She asked, keeping her voice calm. Hailey looked up; her best friend had come to work with them again a few months before and Hailey was still so excited to have her back, and staying with her.
Vanessa frowned. The blonde had obviously been hit. "M-m-my da-ad," Hailey was trembling and her voice was shaking.
"Okay, your dad, what about your dad? Did he do this to you?" Kevin asked in his calming voice. Hailey nodded with a sob, leaning forward towards Vanessa.
The brunette wrapped Hailey into a hug while looking at Kevin in concern, wondering when this had happened. She moved them so Hailey was curled up against her and Kevin got an ice pack for Hailey's face. They sat with her while she cried and let her calm down. Eventually, Hailey sat up and Vanessa passed her the kleenex so she could blow her nose and wipe her face.
"What happened, hun?" Vanessa asked, keeping her voice soft.
"He and my mom came up here. I snapped at him and he hit me, then they left. Now here we are," Hailey sighed, rubbing at her puffy eyes.
