(I got a request for Platt comforting Hailey, and I'm setting this during season 6, episode 6, with something I think we all wish we'd seen. If y'all want more of Hailey with Platt, at literally any age, leave requests! I loved writing this and have honestly debated writing a fic with Hailey being taken in by Trudy and Mouch at a young age. Lmk if y'all want to see that, but for now, just one shots!)

"Hailey, we're too late, he's dead. Hailey!" Trudy Platt's voice echoed in Hailey's head as the older woman pulled Hailey off Devin.

Hailey pulled her knees up and began to sob, somewhat startling Trudy. She'd first met Hailey when she was 12, and she knew that the blonde didn't often show big emotions around others. But she also knew that this kid, a victim of abuse who had confessed to a crime he didn't commit, killing himself was going to hit Hailey hard.

She heard footsteps approaching and saw that Voight, a few patrolmen, and the paramedics from ambo 61 were coming. Hailey was in no shape to be seen by others and she heard her crying pick up at the sound of heavy footsteps approaching, frantically asking what had happened.

"Stop! I just need the paramedics to get him out of here, he's DOA, Hailey and I found him hung by his pants from the bed post. She's really freaked out, let me get her out of here before too many people crowd her," Trudy said and everyone nodded. She met Hank's eyes and frowned, he was confused.

"Look, it's not my story to tell, but I heard how she got a confession. She wasn't lying and that's all I'm going to say," she whispered.

"You want me to take her up?" He asked, concerned for his detective; he could hear her cries.

"No, I've got her. Just get everyone out of the bullpen so I can get her to your office for privacy," Hank nodded and hurried upstairs to clear everyone out.

Trudy went back into the cell and knelt down infront of Hailey. "Hailey, hey, Goldilocks, look at me," Trudy waited for Hailey's blue eyes to focus on her brown ones. "Hey, I know you're upset, but we need to get out of here and give them some space. We're going to go up the back stairs to Voight's office, no one is in the bull pen," Hailey nodded and stood up.

She had started to tug on her fingers, so Platt gently grabbed her hands and looked her in the eyes. "You're safe," she said and Hailey nodded, sniffing back tears.

Hailey held onto Platt's arm as they walked up the back stairs and into Voight's office. Trudy shut the door and closed the blinds while Hailey dropped to the couch and covered her face with her hands as she sobbed. Platt sat next to her and started rubbing her back.

"What's running through your head, Goldilocks?" She asked, her tone gentle.

"H-he was on-only twenty," she sobbed, barely able to breathe.

"I know, hun, I know he was. I need you to breathe, Hailey," Trudy instructed.

Hailey tried to take a few deep breaths but was having a hard time, so Trudy pulled her into a hug and held her until she could breathe a little easier.

"Hailey, this is not your fault. You did not force that kid into confessing, he had no reason to and it's honestly strange that he did. But it is not at all your fault, do you understand that?" Platt asked seriously.

Hailey sat up and nodded, still crying. "He was like me," she whimpered, breaking Trudy's heart.

"No, he wasn't. Hailey, honey, you got out and kept going. You didn't give in and kill yourself. You have made something of yourself and you are an incredible person and detective. Yes, your childhoods are similar, but you pushed through," Trudy explained, hoping it would get through to Hailey.
