(The team goes on a vacation after everything they've been through at the start of season 9. Five people in Jay's truck for hours doesn't go super well for a certain blonde.)
——
Over the last six months, the intelligence unit had been through hell, and that's putting it lightly. So, after Christmas, they all put in for a few days off and Platt sent them on a little vacation to a cabin in Iowa, six hours away.

They decided to take Jay's truck since it would fit them all and be the best in the snow, and they could fit their bags in the bed of the truck with a cover over them. So, at 8:00 on a Wednesday morning, Jay drove to each of their places and picked them up. Kevin got in the front seat, and Hailey sat in the back between Kim and Adam since she was the smallest.

They got breakfast at a coffee shop then left the city, talking and laughing for the first couple of hours. They stopped for a bathroom break before they wouldn't see any towns for a while, and then they continued on their way.

About an hour later, Kim noticed Hailey had gone quiet. "Hey, you okay?" She whispered, not wanting to catch the guys' attention.

"I'm fine, my stomach just hurts a little," Hailey told her, taking a drink of water.

"Do you want to switch seats?"

"No, it's fine," Hailey shook her head and leaned it back, closing her eyes. Kim squeezed her shoulder gently and pointed the air vents towards Hailey as she turned the temperature down.

A little later, Kevin asked Hailey a question and she didn't respond. "Hails?" Jay asked, looking at the rear view mirror to see her. She had her head tilted back and her eyes were shut; he could see a look of discomfort on her face.

"Hail, are you okay?" Kim asked again.

"Let me sleep," she groaned, but Jay heard the upset undertone in her voice. Something was wrong.

"Leave her alone," he said before Adam tried to poke her.

"Damn," Adam grumbled. Kim shot him a look and he smirked.

Hailey could tell what was going on around her and elbowed Adam in the side. "Damn, Upton," he grimaced.

"Leave me alone," she told him.

"I will," he left her be and she tried to fall asleep. Her stomach was turning constantly but she didn't want to draw attention to herself just because she had a stomach ache.

Suddenly, Jay swirved and it jostled Hailey's stomach. She sat up suddenly and Kim watched intently. Hailey's face paled and she was sweating.

"Hailey, are you going to throw up?" She asked. Hailey nodded and brought her hand to her mouth as tears filled her eyes.

"Crap. Jay, pull over! Hailey's gonna be sick!" Kim said.

Jay opened the console and grabbed a sack, passing it to Kim as he tried to pull over. Hailey fumbled for the sack and was throwing up before Jay could stop the car. Kim pulled her hair back as Jay pulled the truck to a stop.

Adam got out and helped Kim get Hailey's seatbelt off as she heaved. "Hail, we've got you, just slide towards Adam," Kim instructed her.

Hailey moved and Adam helped get her out of the truck. She stepped away from the truck as Jay got over to her and took a hair tie from Kim, tying Hailey's hair back before she started throwing up again.

"You're okay, let it out, babe. I'm here, just breathe," Jay comforted her until she stood up and stepped back against him, absolutely mortified.

"Water?" She asked, pulling her sweatshirt off; she had a tshirt on under.
