You felt the throbbing in your finger as you picked it again. You took a glance up to see the group in a circle. Doctor Strange next to you. "Thanos's threat will not be the last, we need a proper system and wire to connect." Captain America spoke, in his usual patriotic tone. "I can make coms for everyone to connect." Tony began, "I'm sorry, Your fix for all of this is a group chat?" Strange said, sitting up. You signed 'Don't trust Stark', only for him to ignore it. You were mute. Became a witch thousands of years ago, under dark circumstances. You dealt with unknown wild magics, and because of that, things backfired. One day you woke with rabbit ears and a tail. You couldn't reverse it. Every emotion you had or felt would come right back with magic. You felt like prey, you felt the need to hide from others around you. The next morning you were a cottontail. Though it had made sickly sense, you hated it. And your speech problem. If you said a word, it'd send a wave, and break everyone's ear drums, yet another backfire. You had become mute for the others around you. No matter how much it made them ignore you. "Would you rather have Skype?" Tony remarks, "What is a Skype?" Loki groans at Thor's question. You begin to sign again, 'Don't do this' Just another back turn, but you hadn't noticed someone turn their eyes.
A pair of piercing Green eyes followed your hands every time you moved them. "My bad, maybe a discord?" Tony adds, "Ah! I know of Discord! She is but a fiend! I do not agree with this token." Thor chimes in, "Not the same thing big guy." Natasha says, sighing. 'This is stupid, we are a target if all sprung together' you sign standing up now, for Strange to not even turn around. "I don't think we are interested in having a text session every Tuesday with someone who let an entire Alien army into New York." He said.
You furrowed your brows and began signing again. "Are you trying to curse me?" Tony asks, who sat near you. You glare and slap Strange's chest, and sign for him to translate for you. "Ow." you begin to sign, "You are an asshole. and your cute group chat won't work. Just like the roundtable it'd be full of misogyny and sluts" Strange spoke, reading your sign. The room got quiet. Until someone began to clap.
You watched those same Green eyes not move themselves from you, as he clapped. "Steve she said a bad word," Natasha said, as Tony opened his mouth to speak. "Enough." Steve sighed and ended the meeting with the words "Every Week, Here. We will switch members to other sides, and so on."
You sign 'Colonizer' before Strange gave you a look. You form a portal and leave with Strange.
💫
You hadn't left your little pocket dimension since then. Your sanctuary of birds fluttered around you. You had always loved animals, and how they connected, it was just so interesting to you. They did something, you couldn't. Something you couldn't do ever again. You picked up a python from the overgrown marble floor, and let her ring around your shoulders. Through this, you carved a wooden stake in the form of her. She just moved gracefully around your neck and ears.
Until you felt something in front of you. A door opened. And you met those Green eyes again. "Y/n, this is the snake who caused 2012. He was sent here to bring our magic back to Asgard. A simple finch will do. " he wanted you to get one of your feathered friends to spy on him. You let the stake fall into the moss and stand up. Your snake now looking his way too. 'They aren't employees.' "and they have better things to do?" 'plenty' "God could you put that thing down for a second?" He complained, looking at your python, who you had almost forgotten had two heads.
You glare and sign aggressively 'We are a package deal doctor, just like you and your audacity "You want this over so bad, just send a little cardinal alright?" you begin to sign, just for him to look away. You stomp and throw a stake at him. After grunting you sign 'you're just scared of him, like everyone else, grow some balls' "That's where I look away." he says, crossing his arms. You groan, your ears flopping down. "Send a bird, or I leave him here."
You signed your objections, only for him to ignore your gaze. The snake on your shoulder in a millisecond jumped onto him. He immediately looked at you and tried to peel her off. You smiled and threw your hand out for her to come back to. "Those are the single-handed cause of the extinction of Rome! Why must you keep one?!" 'Could say the same for men' He groaned, and walked off, leaving you with the 'snake'. You both made breaking eye contact before Strange grabbed Loki and dragged him out. You turn back to your
carving and birds.
💫
You took a portal out of your room. Your birds had begun to freak out, something must have happened outside your little world.
With a few footsteps through a few halls, you we're able to see why. Green flames and chains covered the area. You weren't alarmed, you hadn't cared too much for anything around you. Everything seemed to blur together after the first 100 years. You turned a corner and saw Loki looking down at Strange. In a millisecond Loki turns to look at you. You let a slight blush rise to your cheeks, no one had ever really taken notice of you without a tap on the shoulder like that before. "I don't suppose you'll try to stop me, little rabbit?"
You look at Strange and tilt your head. "Talk!" he yelled through Loki's chains. Loki practically growled and tightened them. You begin to sign 'So it's only okay to talk when it's to your benefit?' he wasn't able to respond. 'What about when I want to?' you signed, 'you just look away! Like I'm nothing! Like I'm just a stop sign!' you stepped closer. 'Deal with your own mess' you begin to walk off.
Those Green eyes follow you.
💫
You placed your carving onto the curved branch. Finally Finished.
Your ears perked, hearing something behind you. A door opened, full of light. And a familiar set of green eyes walked through. Though they had seen much more. You weren't sure how long it had been since you saw the Jotun. He wore a dirty uniform but was alluring as ever.
He seemed almost out of breath. You begin to sign, 'It's been some time, I'm afraid I don't know how much' "I-m sorry. I just- had to see you." he spoke, "I was just- i-ve been.. I'm in trouble and I wasn't sure I'd see you ever again." You tilt your head but in a non-mocking way. 'Don't tell me Odin is still pissy with you?' Loki smirks at your langue but continues, taking a few steps toward you. "I wish things could have gone differently. And I came back here and talked to you. Instead of playing tricks to get your attention."
'I thought that time was an illusion to gods like you' you sign, with a smile. "This god is puny compared to the ones he's up against.." you frown, 'you sound like me' 'Before I came here' you assure, "I can't see myself getting tired of this oasis either." Loki smiles, 'I haven't left since then. There hasn't been a reason. But I find in this endless reality, there never is. Maybe I'll pick up embroidery. '
Loki frowns now too, "I used to believe immortality is a gift. But I see now that everything turns to coal If you have enough time to look at it." you look to the floor and back to him.
'I'm going to die soon aren't I?'
He takes a moment, to nod and bites his lip.
'I suppose you know more about me than it seems..'
"You, have no idea." he smiles, teary eyes still on you.
'I use this one?' you ask, looking at the same snake stake you had carved so long ago.
He takes a step forward like he was ready to stop you. You smile weakly, before nodding.
"You won't do it now right?"
You look up, "I do not know the consequences I will face for this, but you won't do it. Right?"
You smile bitterly, 'What's done is done.'
"But it's not done!"
"Not yet.."
You watch him struggle.
"I don't know how much time I have left before they come for me."
"Speak to me please."
Your eyes widen at his words.
'You know I won't'
"Please."
You smile and step closer. You place your hands on his temples.
"Loki, God with a heart of gold."
