Conner landed on the familiar Smallville grass, ready for a homemade pie or the best sweet tea he had ever tasted- and the only one. But instead, he heard the cries within the house first. He cracked open the curtained door, he saw his concerned family in front of him. He even saw a few league members in the living room. "What's going on?" The group turned to him, "Conner sweetie, why don't you come with us?" Martha tried to ease him away, but he wasn't having it. "Where's Louis?" She wasn't in the house, he had checked. "Look kid- we" "No- I want to hear it from him." He pushed past Cyborg and to his father. "Conner-" He had a stern tone.

"Where is she?" "We don't know." "What do you mean you don't know? Where's her phone?" "Kid-" "Someone of Greek orientation took her. Likely the Capital." Batman finally spoke up, showing the symbol left from a hologram shooting off his arm inhibitor. "That- I know that symbol." He hesitated, "Where?" Clark asked, "C/n's booth.." The room felt sticky and thick- he could feel the atmosphere through his latex suit. "They wouldn't have taken her- are you crazy?!" He saw their faces, he knew what it looked like. "They're my partner! Why would they do this?!" "C/n is unpredictable, maybe they got an offer from the Capital." Cyborg said, "The Capital? You mean those Greek goons? They would never work with them!- Clark!" He looked into his father's eyes.

But found nothing but a foggy gray. He wiped his face, "Go find them, please. They have to know something by now." He looked into the darkness of the room.

He stepped upstairs, hearing the cries of John in his room. He knocked lightly on his door but got no response. He didn't know how to console him, it was his mother. Something Conner didn't have, so he imagined if Clark had gotten taken instead. Then he realized he wasn't worried because he was Superman. He couldn't relate to this situation, even with Lex he wouldn't be worried, the man was a super genius, a super evil genius. So instead he opted to fix the problem. He went to the nearest bathroom and switched off the lights. He looked at his reflection, knowing they were listening behind it. "C/n." He began, "I really need your help this time." They always responded to him, no matter the time. That's why it was so shocking when there was nothing but his reflection in the glass.

Why weren't they responding? Or the bigger question, what had happened to them? If the Greek capital had stolen Louis- could they have taken them too? The sink broke under his hands, C/n was powerful- but what if that wasn't enough anymore? Could he just let them wing it alone? "C/n? Come on.," He tried one last time. He saw the foggy gray appear in his eyes, he'd be lying if he said it didn't scare him. Conner pushed himself out of the bathroom, not wanting to go downstairs he opted for the window escape.

"Thank you." C/n took the ball from their dog's mouth, before chucking it again into the abyss of Gotham. Their hound could tell they were stressed, the shadows corrupting their form were more cracked and rigid, and they moved every hour. Even the shadows knew it, they were stirring through the night, almost like they were ready for something. C/n was their leader, in other words- they controlled the dark abyss of the world. Black holes covered their eyes, their hair tangled in a way that resembled a horn. Their dog wasn't any exception, he was a fated hound. He was a mix of black and gray, the brightest parts of him were still grim. But he was the world to C/n, they were never apart. His chained tail stopped wagging, before nuzzling their arm.

He could hear him calling for them, for their help. "He's fine." They turned their gaze, the pup stuck his head between their knees. "Yeah no, the Capital definitely has her." He whines, "There's nothing I can do. You know that." He still looked upset. "He'll ask about the stupid tower." They complained, tapping their clawed black fingers against the concrete. The dark sky moaned over their dark forms, almost teasing them about the situation. C/n glared, turning the other way, before listening in on the dark below. He was looking for them, at the Gotham nightclubs. He was worried, but more importantly, he was scared.
