"Hey- sleeping beauty." Riri's eyes open and closed, vision blurring from the anesthetic. A figure leaned over her, hair tickling her face. But this was familiar, all too familiar. "Hey! Get off me! You have your own bed." Riri complains, snapping from her drowsy spell. Y/n shrugs, "You look fine. Good." Y/n smiled, showing her fangs. Riri had always assumed it was a genetic thing in her roommate's family. Riri kicks her off as always, Y/n was strangely light. That's when the reality set in, this wasn't their shared dorm with suspicious stains on the ceilings- it was a cage. A very thoughtful cage, roomy and the door was open.

Y/n follows her eyes, "Very thoughtful. We should've tipped the blue guy." Y/n said, leaning the girl up. She always had a way of continuing her trickster attitude- but also caring for the girl. Riri shoves her face in her hands,"We are so dead. I mean- where even are we?!" She shouts,"Underwater. I think. Wonder if we are the first humans to get this far under." Y/n sat next to Riri, leaning her form on her shoulder."Did you sleep well at least?" Riri jumps up, pushing the girl off."Ugh- we gotta find a way out of here- where's Shuri-?!" Y/n leaned back onto the bed, covering herself in the sheets."Blue guy took her somewhere else, I dunno. She's safe- don't worry." She closed her eyes.

"Ain't no way you're sleeping on me right now! You may be intentionally useless in almost every situation- but you're a lock picker- so pick some locks! I dunno use that good eye of yours." Riri ripped off the sheets. Y/n sat up, hugging one knee,"I don't think there are any locks in a cave. Besides- I've looked at every ridge in the cave walls- we are at their mercy now. And honestly- they seem pretty nice to prisoners." Y/n said, adjusting her long skirt and patting Riri's shoulder."So we're somewhere in the deep sea- in a cave. What if we starve? I skipped breakfast." Riri's sighs,"Relax- there's nothing you can do if your blood pressure is this high. And I'm too bony- I would taste terrible."

Riri frowned, but appreciated the girl's optimism. Largely misplaced optimism. That's when the water surrounding them began to ripple, figures immersed from its drops. But no Shuri. "Where is she.." Riri muttered, Y/n shrugged- hearing the sediment. That's when they spotted her emerging too, wiping off some of the water dripping from her legs. "Oh there she is." Y/n touched her friend's shoulder once again. But Riri was too terrified to speak, the man approaching them was the one who wanted her dead. "I think that's the boss.." Her soul left her body.

But it met no snarky remark, instead Y/n stepped in front of her frightened form. Meeting the man's eyes nearly a foot away from her. Shuri was alright, RiRi was fine- this was how it was going to stay. "Who are you?" The man spoke, "You're the Emperor- of what?" Y/n asks, "I believe I asked you a question- surface dweller." He stepped closer. "I asked you one too." He squints, clearly intrigued by her lack of fear, and secretly her appearance. She looked far different from his people, and the other two in the cave. Her skin was enough to make him stop in his tracks. It was no doubt she was alluring, but did he have the same effect on the girl in front of him?

"Kukulkan- Though your people call me- Namor." He said, playing the human's game. "Are you going to kill her?" Y/n jumped straight to the hot question. He almost gulped himself, knowing the goddess in front of him wouldn't like the answer. "Yes. I haft to, for the safety of my people. I do not expect you to understand." Her eyes darkened, this sent him flying into her spell even deeper. There was something more underneath those eyes, and he wanted to dig it out. "You can't say you're any different from us then." She stood straighter. "Killing is a surface dweller's way- I'm sure you've seen it. If your kingdom really is this paradise you say it is- why would it resolve to killing a teenager?"

His brows furrowed. It definitely hit his pride- the pride of his kingdom- and his people's way of life. It was true, this was harsh. But it had to be done to protect his people- his kingdom- she would have to understand. He would make her understand. "If I don't- your people will do the same to mine- and everything here. I will not let that happen." He spoke sternly with his words, but it didn't seem to soften the girl below him. Namor took another stride towards the two. "They stole her technology. For what it's worth- she didn't even mean to build that machine- let alone give it to them." Y/n was just as strict with her words, she didn't care he was a god- or a king- or whatever he was. These were her people too, and she wouldn't let them die like they did. Not ever again.
