"When marrying, ask yourself this question: Do you believe that you will be able to converse well with this person into your old age? Everything else in marriage is transitory."
– Friedrich Nietzsche

Hameed glanced at his watch before lifting the phone back to his ear. Our flight is for 3:00 pm, and it's already 2:30," he told his mother.
He paused, listening.
"Safe flight. Call me when you land," she reminded.
"Alright, Mom. I'll call you, in sha Allah," he replied, ending the call.
He stepped back into the suite where loud, familiar laughter instantly filled his ears. The place was packed friends from secondary school, university, work all there for him.
"Guy how far? Wetin be the time for our flight sef?" Abeer asked, checking his own wristwatch.
"Three," Hameed answered while adjusting the links on his ash-colored kaftan. He sprayed himself lightly with perfume then unplugged his phone from the charger.
"Shegen guy! Finally! See who don dey settle down!" Usman Bukar shouted as he walked in with a suitcase.
Hameed couldn't help smiling they pulled each other into a tight bro hug.
"Oil money don show!" Hameed teased. They both burst out laughing.
Another guy walked in young, tall, impeccably dressed holding a cup of coffee.
"Ango! Ango! Ango!" he chanted with a wide grin.
It was Adnan Imam the young millionaire himself. Hameed pulled him into a hug.
"Ango, see how you don fatten up! Wetin be the secret?" Adnan teased.
Hameed laughed hard. "And you.,.you don start to grow beard now o!"
Faisal joined in, shaking his head.
"Una no see my guy? Him don fresh already!"
The room erupted again loud, warm, brotherly.
He chucked , "Una no well, wallahi ! You guys are mad!" He picked up his wallet, ready to take on the day with his friends.
"Captain Abdulhameed Aliyu Danbatta!" Saleem announced, walking towards the room.
Atom, with a wide smile, greeted Hameed. "See how you resemble a big man's pikin !"
He chuckled. "I know I'm a poor man's pikin , thanks!"
Abeer added, "Ango na Asma'u by tomorrow, insha Allah!"
"I'm not Ango now, ooo? In fact, I didn't feel like Ango until I heard the imam announcing it."
Faisal chimed in, "Bar daniska! He'll definitely throw up the truth!"
Saleem added, "He's so eager to get married!"
He laughs laughed, "Una dey worry me o! Make I no marry again abi?"
