MARIOS GOLF PARK CYPRUS...
The late morning sun spilled across the lush green of Marios Golf Park, Cyprus. The sky was so blue it looked painted, and the air smelled faintly of grass and luxury.
"Captain, keep your eyes on the ball and your arms nice and straight," the coach instructed, his British accent crisp and professional. "Yes, like that. Now slightly bend your knees."
Abdulhameed tried to copy the pose...unsuccessfully. His knees bent too much, his grip was awkward, and the ball stubbornly refused to obey.
From behind, Faisal couldn't hold in his laughter. "Wallahi, Captain, you can't do it!"
"Keep watching, you clown," Abdulhameed replied, his own British accent smooth. "You'll eat your words."
He inhaled, adjusted his black cap, and swung the club with all his might. The ball whizzed through the air, landing perfectly near the flag.
His eyes widened. "Wait...did I just...? Yo, did you see that?"
"Whoa!" Faisal jumped. "You actually did it! Captain don turn Tiger Woods!"
The coach clapped once, smiling. "Not bad, Abdulhameed. You've got a clean swing. Let's try that again, shall we?"
Hameed grinned, pulling his hoodie sleeves up. He was dressed head-to-toe in black ...black jeans, black hoodie, black p-cap...a minimalist fashion that somehow made him stand out even more. His white sneakers gleamed like they'd been polished just for the occasion.
He cracked his knuckles, swung again, and this time the ball sailed even farther.
"See that?" Faisal shouted. "Captain's back in form!"
Abdulhameed chuckled. "Just luck, man. It's been a while."
The coach nodded, pleased. "Good form, good power. You play often?"
"Used to," Hameed replied simply.
When the session ended, the two of them sank into the park's lounge chairs, sipping cold drinks as the sun softened.
"Let me post this video of you, abeg," Faisal said, already holding up his phone. "Your girls deserve to see their golf king."
Hameed groaned. "Faisal, stop. You know I hate attention."
"Too late, Captain. You're trending today!" Faisal grinned mischievously, typing a caption before Hameed could protest:
"My boy Hameed showing off his golf skills 🏌️♂️🔥 #CaptainMoves"
Within minutes, notifications exploded.
Faisal laughed, scrolling. "See comments! They're saying, 'Who's that fine man in black?' and 'Drop his @, please!' You don blow again, Captain."
Hameed rolled his eyes, taking a sip of his juice. "Can you stop this? I don't like all that attention. I don't even post my face anymore."
"But they've been asking, bro!" Faisal said, stretching. "They want to see the man behind the mystery. It's been forever since you posted."
Hameed sighed, covering his face with one hand. "Why are you doing this to me? Don't record me!"
"Too late," Faisal laughed, already filming. "Captain, say hi to your fans!"
