ELIZABETH DIDN'T WANT Henry to leave, but didn't want to be selfish either. She was unnecessarily irritated when Rosalie told her that Henry introduced Yasmin to Lee months ago. But understood why at the same time. Elizabeth had always been overprotective, and Henry knew that he had to be sure of his relationship first.
After seeing them off, she looked at Abbi crying on the couch.
"Sweetie, you want ice cream?"
Abbi shook her head with her arms crossed over her chest. She didn't want her brother to leave her behind.
"I want to go with Henry."
She sniffled and rubbed her eyes. Rosalie came out of the kitchen with a bowl of ice cream in her hand.
"We think alike, don't we?"
Rosalie smiled and kissed her wife's cheek. Kaitlyn was in the kitchen waiting for Charlotte to get back. It had been a few hours already, and she was becoming worried.
"You really like this one, huh?"
Barbara walked into the kitchen alongside Michelle. They were planning to head back to New York earlier than expected too, since they wanted to spend some time with Margaret.
The driveway was getting empty with everyone leaving, and the more everyone left, the more sad Abbi became.
"Yeah, she's different-"
"From the coeds that you usually sleep with?" Rosalie giggled, as she entered the kitchen. Kaitlyn glared at her daughter, but knew that it was true, "I really like her, mum. Take her out on a date, will you?"
Kaitlyn sighed.
"Her mom's so homophobic, it's not funny."
Charlotte had explained everything about her mother to Kaitlyn the previous night, and how she'd had to hide her sexuality for years, pretending to be straight.
"I've got a homophobic father, yet I've got a beautiful wife, a daughter, step-son, a bunch of lesbians for friends," Rosalie laughed, "what I'm trying to say is that no one can stop you from pursuing happiness. Date her in the closet, for god's sake. Once you can handle it."
"Mommy, get ready, we're gonna get milkshakes and blueberry pancakes." Isn't it past noon?
Kaitlyn nodded. She knew that they mutually liked each other, but should she be that bold?
"Whatever my babygirl wants. Everyone get dressed. We're grabbing late breakfast in five!"
