KAITLYN TUCKED ABBI into bed, happy that she'd gotten the little girl to fall asleep without her mothers needing to be there.
"You're so good with her."
Charlotte whispered, wrapping her arms around Kaitlyn's waist, as they observed the sleeping girl. Maybe having kids wouldn't have been so dreadful, but it's too late to be a mother now.
"Just a lot of practice. Twins are a handful. Rosalie and Romario loved to get into a mess."
"Twins?" Charlotte became confused, as Kaitlyn turned into her arms with a sigh, "you have a son too?"
"Had," Kaitlyn clarified, forcing a smile and brushing her fingers against Charlotte's cheek, "he was the cutest baby boy."
"Oh, hun," Charlotte leaned closer, pressing their foreheads together, "can you tell me more about him?"
Charlotte bit down on her bottom lip nervously. She curved her fingers and gripped onto Kaitlyn's sides, while looking into her eyes.
"Of course," Kaitlyn whispered, moving her hand over Charlotte's and entwining their fingers, "but with a glass of wine."
She kissed the back of Charlotte's palm and led the woman into the kitchen. Taking a deep breath, she poured both of them a glass.
