A Fateful Encounter

Kyouka stood in front of the main window of the agency, looking over the city of Shibuya. Today's the last day of her internship at Crust's agency and by tomorrow, she'll finally be back at school and see Izuku again.

Nothing eventful has happened since that weird incident with the Condiment Brothers a few days back. But with how eventful it was before in Hosu, she's glad that everything's been so calm and quiet with the usual hero work she did during the first couple of days of her internship.

Since then, Kyouka had gotten the answers to the questions Izuku asked when she visited him at the hospital. Crust was more than happy to answer all of them to the best of his ability.

As soon as Kyouka got her answers, she immediately texted them to Izuku, to which he responded with lots of thanks along with a bunch of smiley-face emoticons. It was unlike him to use those so he must've really been grateful. After that, he sent a picture of his updated notes on Crust and the young girl was glad that she helped contribute to his amazing notebook.

'What a nice view. You know, I can see it now... Izuku looking over a city from his agency's window, ready to help anyone who's in need at a moment's notice. He should have the tallest building in all of Japan to get the proper view he deserves.'

The girl smirked, crossing her arms. "Hmph, I wouldn't be surprised if he stood on the roof instead so he could get a civilian quicker. He could break through the window, but he probably wouldn't want to cause trouble for anyone with a broken window. Or maybe he can get one of those windows that open outwards instead so he can jump out into the city..."

Her mind then wandered to an altered scene of her previous thought, this time Izuku carrying her bridal style on the roof before jumping down while holding her tight in his arms.

Kyouka slowly wrapped her arms around herself as she closed her eyes, getting a little too absorbed in the thought.

Spending every day going around the city in Izuku's arms as he kicked ass and saved lives before going home with him and his face being the last thing she sees before she falls asleep. It could be an everyday routine with the occasional day off. Maybe a vacation every once in a while if the crime rate is down. Now that sounds like an example of the perfect life for her.

Unfortunately, her fantasy would be cut short by a sidekick shaking her by the shoulder. "Angelbeat? You in there?"

Kyouka opened her eyes to slowly turn towards the sidekick with dead eyes, obviously not amused about her fantasy being interrupted so abruptly. "What...?"

The sidekick gulped, backing off to the other side of the room in a flash. "U-Uh, Crust wants to see you in his office right away! B-But I'm just the messenger so don't hurt me! See ya!"

Kyouka watched as the sidekick ran off, looking confused, not knowing what fear she unintentionally put into him. "Strange guy... But, guess I gotta go." The girl went over and entered Crust's office, waving at the hero. "So, what'd you want to see me for?"

Crust was sitting at his desk, smiling at her. "Angelbeat, I know it's your last day here and your internship officially ends in a couple of hours, but do you mind doing one more job? And this will be a solo one."

"A solo one?" Kyouka asked, twirling around her earphone jack.

"Yes, I was called by the local retirement home and they requested for you to come over and visit one of its residents. The retirement home is only a block away so it shouldn't have any difficulty." Crust explained.

"Are you allowed to send me somewhere on my own? This is technically hero duty, right?"

"It is, but I don't think of it as an issue if you're only visiting the elderly. It's an amazing gesture for us heroes to visit the elderly and sick children." Crust sighed. "It's unfortunate there are some heroes who do it just to get on the front page of the paper, but that's an issue I shouldn't comment much on. You know, if I had no self-control, I would tag along for this, but I think it's best that you handle this all alone. Keep in mind that this job is entirely optional and if you feel uncomfortable with it then you're free to decline. I'm only bringing it up because I believe this will be a good opportunity for you."
