Imee Marcos' POV

Nagising kami ng maaga ni Eloise since lumalakas na ang bagyo and nag-brownout na nga. We decided to cook bacon, some sunny side up eggs, and fried rice galing sa mga natira kagabi for breakfast. After cooking, we decided na gisingin si Rodrigo, nakakahiya naman, it's his house tas di namin siya gigisingin.

"Tito Rod?.." said Eloise as she knocked on the door.

"Come in!" I heard Rodrigo said in his bagong gising voice.

"Gising, Tito Rod! Since ikaw nagluto last night, nag-luto kami ni mom ng breakfast." Eloise said as she shook her Tito Rod.

"Yes, bababa na ako in a while.." he replied and natulog ulit.

A few moments later, bumaba na din si Rodrigo at parang wala siyang tulog.

"Tito Rod, are you okay?" tanong ni Eloise.

"Ah yes, I was awake kaninang madaling araw, since everyone is calling." sagot niya at umupo.

"Mm, yummy did you cook this El?" tanong naman ni Rod habang tinikman niya ang ulam.

"No si mommy po, she's a good cook!" sagot naman ni Eloise.

"Kaya you really should date her.." pabulong niya namang sabi at tinaasan ko nalang siya ng kilay.

"Eat your food, Eloise.." strikta kong sabi.

In the middle of eating breakfast, there suddenly was a loud bang galing sa backyard which caused me to flinch.

"Shit." I whispered, and then Rodrigo held my hand as a sign of comfort. Galawan ng mga walang label. 🥱🥱

"Come on, let's check it out." sabi naman ni Eloise at tumayo.

"Pst! Be careful, madulas yang sahig sa labas when nababasa." paalala ni Rod habang sumusunod kay Eloise.

Syempre hindi ako magpapahuli sa chismis noh, so I stood up and followed them outside.

A mango tree has fallen down directly sa pool and some parts sa garage.

"Oh."

"No, it's fine, I'll just contact someone na ipapa-clean up yan once matapos tapos na tong bagyong toh." he replied.

"Okay, balik sa loob.. baka ano pang lumipad diyan.." he said, kaya we went back in to continue eating.

I then heard Rodrigo's phone receive a notification, and bigla siyang tumayo at umakyat sa bedroom niya.

"Where are you going?" I ask as I follow him out of the house.

"I have to go sa city hall.." he replied.

"Are you crazy, Rodrigo?!?" I reply as I  pulled him towards a room.

"There's a Signal #4 typhoon, and gusto mo mag-gala?!" I hissed.

"It's not gala, Imee. I have to make a contingency plan." he replied.

"Gago ka ba? Naririnig mo naman yata yung buhawi sa labas noh?" I reply, slightly pissed at him, tigas ng ulo neto.

"Can you stop shouting, and insisting? This is my work, let me do it." he replied.

"Don't do that.."

"Don't make petty excuses, kasi I'm also a public servant ha!" I ranted.

"It's my work nga, what am I if I don't help my people." he insisted.

"As much as I know you want to help, you need to wait it out." I said.

"No, they can't just wait it out. Okay?" he replied.
