Hello, my loves!
Yes, that's it. That's how it ends. Some of you are still probably in denial, and is waiting for the next chapter to be published because,
I kind of had that history as I wrote La Douleur Exquise, with all the ups and turns, the dreams and imaginations, all that went wrong is somehow saved on the following chapter. But now, this ends here - I have no more aces to play, there are no more tricks up my sleeve. After a year and three months, LDE eventually had to end.To my readers, who laughed, sobbed, hoped, imagined, and most of all, appreciated Ms. Imee with me. Those who gave me reason and sparked my days with every read, every vote, every comment. Thank you for always pushing me to my limits, making me write, even when I was soooo uninspired. As someone new to the idea of writing, I can truly say that it was definitely not a walk in the park. Beyond everything, I'm amazed that I was able to really finish this.
To my day ones and newbies alike. Thank you, for being here and staying 'til the end. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever thought of having this big of a milestone, and I commend and thank you for that.
I know that I was not able to give you what you wanted and hoped for. But at most, I also hope that you understand the need to follow my original plot - it is somehow a point that not all stories are supposed to end with perfect fairytale endings.
Sometimes it has to be as messed up and grim as possible, because the world is more than rainbows and butterflies. It is also a different kind of fulfilment when you finally achieving the ending I had always imagined, the one I already set in stone since the day I started writing. So again, I hope you understand, that in some way, different can be beautiful. To the various supporting casts, the cherry on top, the people in the story who showed up and was written to make and improve the dynamic La Douleur Exquise holds.
To our ever patient leading man, former President, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, thank you. For teaching us that nothing you do for love is ever bad. It's okay to seek, to long, and to fight for love - nor is giving up, running away, and moving on. It works in different ways, it needs different tactics, because love is unique and yours only.
To the ever radiant and carefree spirit, Senator Imee Marcos, thank you for being my constant and my comfort. You came in my life, through the most unexpected moment, and yet you embedded something unique in my heart. When all went wrong, you remained my anchor, my guiding hope. With you, everything felt bearable and easy. I love you more than you'll ever know.
And lastly, to those who loved, to those who thrives along her, and to resonates with our girl, Eloise.
I hope this finds you and your heart well. Just like what she wished for, I hope you continue on being able to give love, receive love, and feel loved. If not by anyone else, by her, by Imee, and by me.Sorry the acknowledgement is a bit short, I had a hard time trying to encapsulate important trials, lessons, bonds, people, and memories La Douleur Exquise has brought for me. I hope this has been enough.
Thank you - for making this one humbly successful. Mahal ko kayong lahat!
