The sound of crickets and other critters of the night sounds peacefully around San as he laid in a soft patch of grass surrounded by tall trees, staring up at the moon in complete silence.
He reaches into the pocket of his worn down tunic and clutches the stone again, the harsh coolness reminding him that it's real. That he really did meet that lady at the collection office yesterday and she really did help him. Hwasa.. if this actually works..
He swallows hard. He wanted it to work. So badly. He didn't know what he'd do if this was another wild goose chase.
A long sigh escapes his lips and he pulls the object out of his pocket and inspects it for the nth time. The red stone was a little smaller than the size of his palm and had a big swirl engraved in the center. The rock itself had specks of different shades of red which caught the moonlight differently as he spun it in his hands, making it glisten.
"What do you think?" San asks out loud then looks up at the moon. "Pretty, right?" Silence.
Almost everynight since that night he'd find somewhere with the moon clearly being visible and talk to Wooyoung. He knew he had to be watching him. He also knew he probably sounded insane but the irony is this was probably one of the few things keeping him sane.
"I think it's really pretty. But I can't help but feel nervous. If this guy is the real deal we could see each other again. I-" He bites down on his lip. After 4 years...
He didn't want to get his hopes up. Better to expect disappointment so that when it comes it doesn't hurt as much. "I'm gonna get moving. Better to travel at night and it's less people I'd have to run into" He stands up with a grunt. As a vampire he obviously doesn't sleep anymore which made his already long days extra long.
He grabs his bag and small satchel, swinging it across his back and chest and continued moving. Where he currently was in Naex was two days away from Boulia. If he wanted to get there quicker he'd have to keep moving.
He wasn't hungry yet but was glad he bought that blood bag for the long trip he knew he'd have even if it was ridiculously expensive. The hours go by quicker than usual but that could just be because all he had on his mind was completing the plan.
It was night fall again when hunger began creeping in and he knew he'd have to feed soon but wanted to save the blood in his bag for when he's actually in Boulia. So he sets down his things beside a tree making sure to hide it from the main forest path, then he made his way deeper in the darkness in search of something that was alive he would feed on.
After a minute or two he catches the sound of something scurrying in the bushes on the far left and he vampire speeds to the sound successfully grabbing a hare by the head and snapping it's neck in one fell swoop, killing it.
He drained it dry within seconds and grimaced at the slightly bitter taste after pulling back. But he tosses the carcass to the side and returns back to the main path way, picking up his bag and grabbing his waterskin. He uses some water to wash the blood from his lips then continued on the travel. He wasn't fully satiated but it was better than nothing.
