Finding You, Part 4, Chapter 13 —
At Skye and Lorenzo's — Skye and the children entered carrying bags. "Mother, can I check on Brownie?" Genevieve asked. "Alright, go put your boots on," Skye said. "I want to bring her some apples," Genevieve added. "Alright," Skye replied. Genevieve went to get the apples as Lorenzo entered. "Lorenzo, is everything okay?" Skye asked. "I need to talk to you alone," Lorenzo said as Jamie entered. "Jamie, can you take the children upstairs? Genevieve is going to check on Brownie," Skye directed. Skylar, Lila Rae, and Luis went upstairs. "What's wrong?" Skye asked. "Tomas saw my father in New Mexico. I need to go and take care of him," Lorenzo explained. "Lorenzo, is your father?" Skye questioned. "Yes, but he will hurt our family if I don't do something," Lorenzo responded. "Be careful," Skye warned. "I will always come back to you," Lorenzo promised. "When do you leave?" Skye inquired. "Tomorrow," Lorenzo answered as Genevieve returned with a bag of apples. "Genevieve, I told you that bag isn't for the horse," Skye said. "No, this one is. Sally says she brought it for the horse," Genevieve replied as Sally entered. "Mrs. Alcazar, I did buy it for the horse," Sally confirmed. "See?" Genevieve added. "Alright, thank you, Sally, but they don't need all of them," Skye said. "I know," Genevieve responded, putting on her boots. "Be careful out there. Don't be too long," Skye advised. "Yes," Genevieve said as she stepped outside. Inside, Skye and Lorenzo talked. "Is Tomas staying here?" Skye asked. "Yes, he's safe to trust," Lorenzo replied. "Alright, what about Daniella and Constanza?" Skye asked. "I will keep them safe too," Lorenzo assured. "Good," Skye said. Outside, Genevieve was walking toward the barn. She missed Brownie, and the deep snow made walking difficult. Her boot came untied, and she fell into the snow. At the docks, Rae sat holding a picture of Faith as Alan approached. "Rae, are you okay?" Alan asked. "I saw Skye today. It was hard not to tell her, but I didn't," Rae replied. "Good, we have to do this," Alan said. "Yes, we do," Rae agreed. At Skye and Lorenzo's place, Skye was looking at her watch. "Genevieve should be back by now," Skye said. "Something is wrong with Genevieve," Skylar said as she came downstairs. "Why do you say that?" Skye asked. "I'm her twin," Skylar stated. "I will check on her," Lorenzo declared, stepping outside. He saw Genevieve lying in the snow. "Genevieve, baby," Lorenzo called, picking her up and carrying her inside. "Genevieve," Skye and Skylar said in unison. "I found her in the snow," Lorenzo reported, laying her on the couch and covering her with blankets. "She's so cold and blue," Skye remarked. "Let's take her coat off," Lorenzo suggested. Genevieve still hadn't woken up as they removed her winter clothes. "Baby, wake up. I'm calling Daddy," Skye said, picking up her phone and covering Genevieve with a blanket. "Daddy, I need you to come over. Genevieve fell in the snow; she's all blue," Skye explained before hanging up. "Daddy's on his way," Skye assured. She sat beside Genevieve, trying to wake her, with Skylar beside her. "Genevieve, wake up. Jeopardy is on again. I'll watch it with you," Skylar offered. Alan entered. "What's going on?" Alan asked. "Genevieve isn't waking up," Skye said. Alan looked at her; she then woke up. "Grandfather, what happened?" Genevieve asked. "You fell in the snow," Alan explained. "I was going to see Brownie," she added. "I need to take your temperature," Alan said, checking her. "Does she have frostbite?" Skye inquired. "No, she was saving in time," Alan reassured. "I had a feeling she was in trouble," Skylar said. "Yes, the twin thing," Alan added, removing the thermometer from Genevieve's mouth. "It's normal. Thank God. Are you still cold?" Alan queried. "Yes, so cold," Genevieve admitted. "It will take a while to warm up. I suggest you don't check on the horse for a bit," Alan advised. "My boot came untied—that's how I fell," Genevieve explained. "The horse is fine," Alan confirmed. "Yes, they are," Lorenzo agreed. "Can I have some hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows?" Genevieve asked. "Yes, you can," Skye responded. "Sure, we'll take her to the hospital," Lorenzo suggested. "No, just check her temperature," Alan said. "I will," Skye promised. The maid entered. "Sally, can you make some hot chocolate for the children?" Skye requested. "With marshmallows," Genevieve added. "Sure," Sally agreed. Skye then prepared to leave. "Thank you," Skye said. "You're welcome. I heard Luis is home," Alan noted. "Yes, he is. Thank God," Skye responded. Alan saw the broken glass on the door. "What happened?" Alan inquired. "Genevieve took a book from the door and broke it. We tried to get her to talk to Dr. Collins, but it didn't go well," Skye explained. "I'm sure," Alan said as he left.
