Finding Your Part 4, Chapter 29 —
At The Quartermaine
Genevieve was in the den having dinner alone, thinking about her family who was also having dinner at that moment. It was pasta night, Genevieve's favorite meal. Alice entered.
"Genevieve, do you need anything?" Alice asked.
"No, thanks," Genevieve replied.
"Alright, the cook made cupcakes for you for dessert," Alice said.
"Thank you," Genevieve responded just as Emily came in.
"Aunt Emily, why are you here?" Genevieve asked.
"To see you," Emily said. Alice left.
"Aunt Emily, can you tell Alexander to please return my text? I want to talk to him," Genevieve said.
"I will. So, you're living here now?" Emily asked.
"Yes, or until my father says I can see Alexander. He's sure to stay out of this. I can handle my battles; I'm not a child," Genevieve asserted.
"You're right, but don't you miss your family?" Emily asked.
"A little, but not him," Genevieve replied. "Would you like some dinner?"
"I can't stay; I have to go to the hospital. I just want to check on you," Emily said.
"Oh, Aunt Emily, can you help me put eye drops in? I can't do it myself, and Mom usually helps. I have to use them every night," Genevieve explained.
"Sure, I can do that before I leave. Who will help you when you're living here?" Emily asked.
"I haven't figured that out," Genevieve replied. Emily helped her put the drops in.
"Thanks, Aunt Emily," Genevieve said.
"You're welcome. Just give Alexander some time; I know he'll text you back," Emily reassured.
"Thanks," Genevieve said.
"You know your mother loves you," Emily added.
"I know," Genevieve responded.
"She's going to miss you so much," Emily said.
"It will be easier for them now that I'm here. I'm always the difficult one," Genevieve noted.
"You're a mix of both your parents," Emily said.
"I'm not like him; I'm not a killer," Genevieve insisted.
"No, you have the good parts of Skye and Lorenzo. I love you," Emily said.
Genevieve pulled out a Hershey's kiss and handed it to Emily before she left.
At Skye and Lorenzo's house — Skye and Lorenzo were having dinner with their children, who looked sad that Genevieve wasn't there.
"This is Genevieve's favorite meal," Skylar said.
"Yes, it is," Lila Rae agreed.
"Look, I know today has been sad, but your sister will come home," Lorenzo assured.
"How can you be so sure? Genevieve loves the mansion," Skylar questioned.
"Because I do," Lorenzo replied.
"What did you do to make my sister leave?" Skylar asked.
"I was trying to help Genevieve and it backfired," Lorenzo admitted.
"Yes, it did. I'm going to bed in the guest room," Skye said and left.
"Finish your dinner, then go to bed," Lorenzo said as he followed her.
"I'm going to miss Genevieve too," Lila Rae said.
"We all are," Luis echoed.
Skye was in the guest room, picking up her cell phone. She received a message from Genevieve.
"Goodnight Mother," the message read.
"Goodnight Genevieve, I love you. I miss you," Skye responded.
"I will come home if Daddy fixes things with Alexander. He will not text me back," Genevieve replied.
"I will try to work on it with your father. We all miss you," Skye replied.
"Did you put your drops in your eyes?" Skye asked.
"Yes, Aunt Emily helped me," Genevieve confirmed.
"Good. Did you have dinner?" Skye inquired.
"Yes, I'm going to shower now," Genevieve replied.
"Well, don't stay up too late," Skye reminded.
"I will not," Genevieve assured.
Lorenzo entered the guest room. Skye put her phone down.
"What is going on?" Lorenzo asked.
"I just texted our daughter," Skye said.
"Oh, how is she?" Lorenzo inquired.
"She's acting like she's fine," Skye answered.
"Skye, in the morning, I will go over to the mansion and talk to Genevieve," Lorenzo promised.
"You'd better fix it. It was enough that Genevieve had to deal with losing a boy she cared about, and then you did this. It's a double betrayal," Skye said.
"I just hate that look on Genevieve's face when she came in," Lorenzo admitted.
"Me too, but you can't fix it. Our daughter needs to learn how to handle her problems," Skye said.
"You're right. I'm sorry. Now, come to bed with me," Lorenzo requested.
"No," Skye replied.
"Alright," Lorenzo said and left.
