At Skye and Lorenzo's—Skye and Lorenzo were downstairs talking when Genevieve came rushing in. "Mother, Daddy!" Genevieve said as she kept running. "Genevieve, I told you not to run in the house," Lorenzo said. "Genevieve, stop running," Lorenzo added. "Sorry, Daddy," Genevieve said. "What is it? Are you hurt?" Skye asked. "No, Mother, I was just on the phone with Alexander. He wants me to go with him to this poetry event at the college today. Can I?" Genevieve asked. "Who will take you?" Lorenzo asked. "I want to go just with the driver. I'm old enough; I don't need a babysitter," Genevieve said. "Genevieve, you are only 12 years old. You're still a child," Lorenzo said. "No, I'm not. I take a college class. Please," Genevieve begged. "What time does it start?" Skye asked. "At 3. Alexander wants to go to Kelly's for lunch first at one. Please," Genevieve said. "Alright, the driver can take you, and you can make your phone call if you need it," Lorenzo said. "Thanks, Daddy. I have to get ready," Genevieve said. "I will be upstairs to help you," Skye said. Genevieve left. "Lorenzo, thanks for letting her go," Skye said. "I just hope we don't regret this," Lorenzo said. "We won't," Skye replied, heading upstairs.
