Finding You Part 4, Chapter 77 ~
At the Courtroom~ Alexis was getting her things ready for the trial when AJ came in with Genevieve. "Aunt Alexis, thank you for letting me watch," Genevieve said. "You're welcome," Alexis replied as Ned, Tracy, and Kate also entered. "I hope you have a great lawyer; you're going to need one," Tracy said. "I do," Kate responded as her lawyer entered. "John Durant," Alexis asked. "Yes, I am Kate's lawyer," John said. "Do you think you have a case?" Ned asked. "Yes, I do," John replied. "This is going to be fun," Alexis said. The judge entered, and everyone stood up. "Case of Kate Howard vs. the Quartermaines on fraud," the judge announced. "Kate Howard, do you plead guilty?" he asked. "Not guilty, Your Honor," Kate said. "Your Honor, Ms. Howard uses late family members of the Quartermaine name and put it on her new line of jeans without asking the Quartermaines. We are asking for her company," Alexis explained. "Your Honor, this is good for the Quartermaines; sales for the Chloe Morgan jeans went up. It's just business, and Ms. Howard is willing to share some of the sales from the jeans with the Quartermaines," John said. "Not good enough; I would like to call Kate Howard to the stand," Alexis said. Kate stood and was sworn in. "Ms. Howard, why did you come up with this idea?" Alexis asked. "To save my company, and I always liked Chloe's line," Kate answered. "Did you ever think about asking the Quartermaines first?" Alexis inquired. "Yes, but I didn't," Kate responded. "No, you didn't care that this was a member of the Quartermaines who was murdered; all you care about is your company and money!" Alexis said, and Genevieve looked on with interest. "Ms. Davis," the judge said. "I'm sorry," Alexis replied as she sat down. "Kate, do you regret this?" John asked. "Yes, I do, and I'm sorry," Kate said, getting up from the stand. "This is a small case, so it's up to me to decide what really happened here, and I rule that Kate Howard must give her company to the Quartermaines; she owns them," the judge declared. "Your Honor," Kate said. "Have you thought it through carefully?" the judge asked, and then the case was adjourned. "Thank you, Alexis," Ned said. "You're welcome," Alexis replied. "Who is going to run it?" Genevieve asked. "Your mother, maybe," AJ suggested. "Oh, Alexis, you were great in court. Now I know what I want to do," Genevieve said. "I'm glad you liked it. If you need any advice, let me know," Alexis offered. "I will. I'm going to work hard to get into law school," Genevieve said. "Good," Alexis responded. "Genevieve, let's take you home," AJ suggested, and they left.
Alexis was cleaning up her table when Ned was alone with her. "Thank you for this," Ned said. "You're welcome," Alexis replied. Ned kissed her. "Oh, Ned," Alexis said. "I still like you," Ned admitted. "I still like you too," Alexis responded, and they shared another kiss.
At Skye and Lorenzo's place, Skye was using her walker and walking around the house with Bobbie. "Skye, you're doing great," Bobbie said. "Thanks. Tonight is Lila Rae's piano recital," Skye replied. "That's nice. Your recovery is going well. I have a feeling you'll be better soon," Bobbie remarked. "Good," Skye said. Then Genevieve and AJ entered. "Mother," Genevieve greeted. "Stay there; I want to walk to you," Skye said. Skye used her walker to approach Genevieve and AJ. "Oh, Mother, that's great," Genevieve said. "Yes, it is," AJ added. 'Thanks," Skye replied as Lorenzo entered, and Skye walked into his arms. "Oh, Skye," Lorenzo said. "I'm almost better," Skye said. "Yes," Lorenzo agreed. "Genevieve, how was court?" Skye asked. "It was great. Alexis was a fantastic lawyer, and we won," Genevieve answered. "Yes, we did," AJ added. "I'm going to be a lawyer after seeing Alexis; I want to be just like her," Genevieve declared. Skye and Lorenzo exchanged a look. "That's great," Skye said.
