Finding You, Part 4, Chapter 30
— At the Quartermaine Mansion — The Next Morning — Alan and Monica were having breakfast with Genevieve. "Thank you for letting me stay here," Genevieve said. "You're welcome, this is your home too," Alan replied. "I do like it here," Genevieve added. "Do you have everything you need?" Monica asked. "Yes, I do," Genevieve responded. "You know you can't stay here forever," Alan said. "Why not?" Genevieve asked. "Your mother will miss you. I know you're upset with your father, but you have to go home," Alan explained. "You just say this is my home too?" Genevieve asked. "Yes, it's a place for you to come anytime you need one," Alan assured. "What Daddy did wasn't right," Genevieve said. "No, it wasn't. But your father was just being a father and wanted to make sure you wouldn't get hurt anymore," Alan said. "I can deal with it. I'm not a child. I do go to college," Genevieve stated. "To your parents, you'll always be a child," Monica said. "Monica is right," Lorenzo entered the room. "Why are you here?" Genevieve asked. "To talk to you," Lorenzo replied. "I don't want to talk to you," Genevieve said. "Genevieve, just listen to your father," Alan urged as he and Monica left. Genevieve got up and sat on the couch beside her father. "I'm sorry about what I did with Alexander. I just hate to see you hurt," Lorenzo said. "Alexander was coming over to tell me why he kissed Josslyn. I'm sure it was her. I want to hear his side of the story," Genevieve said. "Have you heard from him?" Lorenzo asked. "No, he won't text me back. I may have lost him. Daddy!" Genevieve yelled. "There are other boys out there," Lorenzo said. "Not like Alexander. We have a lot in common," Genevieve replied as Alice came in with flowers. "Ms. Genevieve, these are for you," Alice said as she handed them to Genevieve, who picked up the card, which was from Alexander. "Oh, Alexander. He says he's sorry. So Daddy fixes it," Genevieve said. "Your mother missed you last night," Lorenzo said. "Daddy," Genevieve responded. Lorenzo got up, picked up his cell phone, and called someone. A magazine was on the table, and Genevieve picked it up. It was an ad with a model wearing a new pair of jeans that would be hitting the stores today. "Genevieve, I called Alexander, and he will come over later to talk to you. So, are you coming home?" Lorenzo asked. "Can I see Alexander?" Genevieve asked. "Yes, you're growing up too fast," Lorenzo said. "Well, you promise not to come between us again?" Genevieve asked. "Yes, so sure. We'll get your bags," Lorenzo responded.
