Finding You, Part 4, Chapter 68 —
At Lorenzo's Coffee Shop — Lorenzo pushed Skye into his shop, and Genevieve came in with them. "Genevieve, go order yourself a hot chocolate. Skye, would you like Genevieve to get you some tea?" Lorenzo asked. "Yes, please," Skye said. "Yes, Mother, can I get a chocolate croissant?" Genevieve asked. "Alright," Lorenzo said. Genevieve went to order.
"Lorenzo, I have a feeling that Genevieve told the children whose idea it was to cheat," Skye said. "I believe it too. Did she tell you anything?" Lorenzo asked. "No," Skye said.
Genevieve was finishing her order when Nikolas came in with Alexander. Genevieve turned around, saw them, and was about to go up to Alexander when Lorenzo came by. "Genevieve, let me help you carry our order to the table," Lorenzo said. "Daddy," Genevieve said. "No, Genevieve," Lorenzo said. "You're being unfair," Genevieve said. "You did this. Come on," Lorenzo said. They went to their table.
"Father, maybe this was a bad idea," Alexander said. "We have a right to be here," Nikolas said. They went to order.
Lorenzo and Genevieve returned to their table. "Mother, I ordered your tea just like you like it—with honey," Genevieve said. "Thank you, baby," Skye said. Genevieve looked at Alexander. "Genevieve, it's family time," Lorenzo said. "Not all the family is here," Genevieve said. "No, but still, stop looking at Alexander," Lorenzo said. "If I tell you whose idea it was to cheat, will you let me see Alexander or will it make it worse?" Genevieve asked. "Just tell us. We will still love you," Skye said. "It was my idea," Genevieve admitted, looking at the table.
"Why did Alexander go along with him?" Lorenzo asked. "Alexander told me he loved me, and I didn't believe him. So I told him to prove it and help me. It was all me," Genevieve said.
"Have you learned your lesson? That you can't cheat?" Lorenzo asked. "Yes, I will never do it again," Genevieve said. "You don't need straight A's on everything, as long as you do your best and don't get any D's or F's, we won't get upset," Skye said. "Alright, I'm still grounded," Genevieve said. "Yes, just until Saturday," Lorenzo said. "You can ground me on Saturday too," Genevieve said. "You're going to your sister Lila Rae's piano recital," Skye said. "Why? Lila Rae and I don't get along," Genevieve said. "Lila Rae is your sister. We will support her; that's what a family does. One day, you will need each other," Skye said. "No, all I need is my twin and Luis," Genevieve said. "I wish you and Lila Rae got along," Skye said. "Sorry, Mother," Genevieve said. "Finish up. We will get you the book you want," Lorenzo said. Skye sipped her tea, feeling tired. "Skye, do you want to go home?" Lorenzo asked. "No," Skye said. "Skye, don't push yourself," Lorenzo said. Genevieve got up and went to Skye. "Mother," Genevieve said. Skye touched Genevieve's hair. "Did you brush your hair today?" Skye asked. "No, but if you want, you can brush it," Genevieve said. "Sure, I would love to," Skye said. "Let's get your mother home," Lorenzo said. "Yes, Daddy?" Genevieve said. They walked out, and Genevieve looked at Alexander.
