Finding You Part 4, Chapter 5
The next day
At Skye and Lorenzo's house
Genevieve woke up late and was so mad that she slept in. She grabbed a dress and ran downstairs to find Skye there.
"Mother! Why didn't you wake me up? You said we could go back to school today, and now I'm late! I have a test, you know I hate being late!" Genevieve said.
"Genevieve, calm down. There is no school today," Skye replied.
"Why not?" Genevieve asked, having a panic attack.
Skye took her hand and guided her to the window.
"See, we had a snowstorm last night, so the school is closed," Skye explained.
"Are you sure? My college is closed?" Genevieve asked.
"Yes, it is. That's why I let you sleep in," Skye said.
"But I have a history test today," Genevieve said.
"Genevieve, calm down. Come sit down, and I'll pour you some juice," Skye said.
She helped Genevieve sit down, poured her some juice, and sat next to her, gently touching her hair.
"Why did it have to snow here? We never get snow like this. Well, we have school tomorrow," Genevieve said.
"Genevieve, just relax. We're going to have a fun day. We're going to watch movies as a family," Skye said.
"I have to finish a book and study for another test," Genevieve replied.
"You can do that later. You need to have some fun, all of us do," Skye encouraged.
"The horse?" Genevieve asked.
"The horse is fine. Our ranch hand, Guy, is taking care of them," Skye reassured.
"Oh," Genevieve said.
"Are you feeling better?" Skye asked.
"No, I want to go to school. I missed yesterday," Genevieve admitted.
"I know, but you can catch up," Skye said, just as Lorenzo entered.
"Is everything okay?" Lorenzo asked.
"Genevieve had a panic attack because of no school. You'd think she'd be happy. A normal kid would," Skye explained.
"Yes," Lorenzo agreed.
"What did the hospital say?" Skye inquired.
"They will call us back," Lorenzo said.
"I hope so. I'm so worried," Skye said.
"I know," Lorenzo replied.
"Lorenzo, last night, did you find Faith?" Skye asked, touching his face.
"We are safe. That's all you need to know," Lorenzo replied.
"Let's go watch a movie with our daughters," Skye suggested, and they headed to the movie room.
In the movie room
Genevieve, Skylar, and Lila Rae picked out a movie.
"I want this movie," Lila Rae said.
"No, not another Disney movie," Genevieve replied.
"Why do you care?" Lila Rae asked.
"How about this one?" Skylar suggested.
"No, we've seen it more than a million times," Genevieve said as Skye and Lorenzo entered.
"Did you decide on a movie?" Lorenzo asked.
"No. I don't want to watch a Disney movie. Why do I care? I'll just read my book," Genevieve said, about to leave when Lorenzo stopped her.
"No, we're watching a movie as a family," Lorenzo said.
"Why?" Genevieve asked.
"We need this," Lorenzo replied.
"Not all of us are here," Lila Rae said.
"No," Genevieve said.
"We miss Luis too. Come on, we can watch more than one movie," Skye added as the maid entered with a tray of snacks.
"I have popcorn, M&M's, and soda," the maid said.
"Really?" Genevieve asked.
"It's okay," Skye assured.
The maid set the tray on the table, and they sat on the couch. Lorenzo put the movie in and sat beside Genevieve.
"We'd better have school tomorrow," Genevieve said.
"Why? We never get a snow day," Skylar replied.
"I hate it. You know that," Genevieve said.
"It's okay, Genevieve. Just relax," Skylar said.
"I don't know how," Genevieve admitted.
"Just watch the movie," Skye encouraged.
"I'm cold," Genevieve said.
Lorenzo picked up a blanket, covered her, and said, "Thank you, Daddy."
"You're welcome. It's going to be okay," Lorenzo reassured.
"The movie is starting," Lila Rae announced.
At Rae's hotel room
Rae was on the phone, trying to reach Faith.
"Faith, please call me back. I'm worried about you," Rae said, hanging up and leaving.
Skye and Lorenzo sat on the couch, finishing the movie with their daughter.
"Did you like it?" Skye asked.
"We've seen this movie before. Disney movies are so bad for girls. I don't need any man to come to my rescue," Genevieve said.
"You're dating a prince," Lila Rae said.
"Yes, but I don't need him," Genevieve replied.
"It's just a movie," Skye said.
"Can we order pizza for lunch?" Skylar asked.
"Mom will just say no," Genevieve predicted.
"Yes, we can order pizza. I'll order it if you pick out another movie," Skye agreed.
"I need to do homework," Genevieve said.
"You can do it later," Skye said.
"Genevieve, relax. You don't always have to get good grades," Lorenzo advised.
"Yes, I do," Genevieve insisted.
The maid entered.
"Mr. and Mrs. Alcazar, Dr. Rae Cummings is here," the maid announced.
"Thank you," Skye said as Rae entered.
"Lorenzo, I need to talk to you," Rae said.
"Hello, Grandmother," Lila Rae greeted.
"Hello, Lila Rae," Rae replied.
"Girls, stay in here. We'll be right back," Lorenzo said.
Skye, Lorenzo, and Rae left.
Lila Rae picked up the remote to see what was on TV and found the movie Psycho.
"Lila Rae, we can't watch this. Turn it off," Genevieve warned.
"No, let's watch it," Lila Rae insisted.
"You're going to get us in trouble," Genevieve said.
