Finding You Part 4, Chapter 43
— At Skye/Lorenzo's — Genevieve's Room — Genevieve was in her room getting ready for bed. She placed the dog on her bed, lay down next to him, and petted him. "You can sleep with me, I don't care if Mother doesn't want you to. I love you, Charlie," Genevieve said as Skye came in. "Genevieve," Skye said. "Goodnight, Mother," Genevieve replied as she covered the dog with the blanket. Skye took the blanket off and saw the dog on the bed. "Genevieve, I told you the dog can't sleep with you," Skye said. "Why not? I like him in my bed. He's scared. It's his first night," Genevieve explained. "Your father brought him a bed he can sleep in," Skye said, and she took the dog and placed him in there. "Alright, Mother, are you scared of dogs?" Genevieve asked. "No, I'm not," Skye replied. "I'm in trouble over what Alexander and I did," Genevieve asked. "You're not in trouble. You just can't do that yet. If you have any questions about sex, let me know," Skye said. "I don't," Genevieve replied. "You can come to me about anything," Skye reassured her. "I know. Where is Grandmother Rae? Why wasn't she at dinner today?" Genevieve asked. "She went somewhere to get some rest," Skye answered. "Oh, I hope she's okay," Genevieve remarked. "Me too. Now, it's time for bed," Skye said. "Goodnight, Mother," Genevieve responded. "Goodnight. Don't get up and put the dog on your bed," Skye instructed. "Yes, Mother," Genevieve said. Skye left and closed the door, while Genevieve got up and picked up the dog. "You can sleep with me in the morning. I'll put you back on your bed. It will be our secret," Genevieve whispered as she slept with the dog.
