Finding Your Part 4, Chapter 24
At Rae's hotel room—Rae and Alan wake up in each other's arms. "Oh no, what have we done?" Alan asks. "I'm sorry," Rae says. "Me too, I can't do this to Monica. I love her," Alan replies. "I know," Rae responds.
Alan gets up and leaves. "Rae, I'm sorry, but we have to keep this between us," Alan says. "I understand," Rae replies. "Are you okay?" Alan asks.
"Yes, I'm a grown woman," Rae says. "Skye will come around," Alan says. "I hope so," Rae responds. Alan leaves.
At Skye and Lorenzo's—Skye and Lorenzo are alone, talking. "Lorenzo, I've been thinking. If Genevieve pays for half of her cell phone, we should let her keep it," Skye says. "I just don't like that she went behind our backs," Lorenzo replies. "I don't either, but the children need a cell phone, and she will only call Alexander and Constanza," Skye adds. "Alright," Lorenzo agrees. "Thank you," Skye says, sharing a kiss.
In Genevieve's room—Genevieve is sitting on her bed watching Jeopardy when her parents come in. "Shall I compare thee to..." she starts. "What is a Summer day?" she guesses. "Karen Blixen wrote, "Out of Africa,' under what name?" she continues. "What is Isak Dinesen?" her parents listen.
"Genevieve, we need to talk to you," Lorenzo says. "Sorry, I didn't hear you come in," Genevieve apologizes. "It's okay. You can have your phone back because I want you to have it for emergencies," Lorenzo replies. "Can I call Alexander on it?" Genevieve asks. "Yes, but not for too long, and not when you're supposed to be in bed. I will also take the hundred dollars you have," Lorenzo says. "Close your eyes," he adds.
"Genevieve," Skye says. "What? I don't want you to know where I keep it," Genevieve responds. Skye and Lorenzo close their eyes, and Genevieve pulls out a book, opens it, then puts it back on the shelf. "You can open your eyes," she says. Lorenzo and Skye do.
"Here you go. Can I call Constanza on it too?" Genevieve asks. "Yes," Lorenzo replies. "Thank you," Genevieve says. "You're welcome. In an hour, turn off the TV and go to bed. I will take it out tomorrow," Lorenzo says. "No, I haven't been watching it when I'm not supposed to," Genevieve insists. "Genevieve, it was only here when you were sick," Lorenzo says. "Why can't I keep it here? I like watching Jeopardy, and my grades haven't failed," she argues. "We will think about it," Skye says as they leave.
Later, Skye and Lorenzo discuss Genevieve's TV. "Skye, you think she's got the TV in her room?" Lorenzo asks. "Why not?" Skye questions. "The other children will want one too," Lorenzo says. "Yes, but I think it will be fine," Skye responds as they go downstairs.
They have a drink. "You're getting soft on our daughter," Lorenzo says. "Maybe so," Skye responds as Daniella comes in. "Daniella," Lorenzo greets.
"I'm glad you're well. But where is Tomas? Did you kill him?" Daniella asks. "Daniella, I can't tell you, but he's the reason I was shot. It was a setup," Lorenzo explains.
"How dare you! He's the only one who knows what my mother was like, just as I did!" Daniella yells and slaps him. "Daniella," Skye intervenes.
"I don't want you in my life. The children can come over to see Constanza, but that's it. You're dead to me," Daniella declares. "I understand," Lorenzo replies as she leaves.
"Lorenzo, are you okay?" Skye asks. "Yes, I'm fine," Lorenzo answers. "Let's go to bed," Skye says, taking his hand. They go upstairs, and Lorenzo locks the door. They make love.
