Apocalypse 1.4: Gift and Curse

"How long?"

I know this voice

"Three days." That's Jay.

"Three days." It's Namjoon. "Jimin?" he asks

"He didn't say anything Head." That's Jihyo

Her voice is hoarse.

"Are you sure she's alive?" Namjoon says

"Why?"

My voice sounds cracked even to me. I've never felt like my throat was so dry. I can't open my eyes, but I feel terrible. Sore. It's painful everywhere. My back is bandaged and I'm under warm covers.

"Fuck" Jihyo curses for the first time "HOSEOK!" she screams "WATER!"

I manage to open my eyes and I put myself up. I sit and look up at Namjoon. He looks at me and he blinks. But it's too late for him to dissimulate his emotion. He's relieved. I see Hoseok approaching with a big glass of water which he almost let fall when he sees me.

"Eli, lay down." Jihyo ushers "How the hell are you alive?"

I drink the water slowly. I look at Jay and I can see the dark circles. He's tearing up.

"Come here." I put the glass aside and open my arms "It is fine." I pat his back

I hear rushed steps and Sunghoon appears hair disheveled and he looks at me. Shocked. I smile at him lightly.

"You had your time in the bathroom today..." I whisper

He laughs, but the tears fall at the same time. Jay lets him take his place, but he remains sat beside me.

"Why are there so many people?" I look at Namjoon

"We learned news of your injury." Namjoon sighs "You do know where you are?"

I look around and then I can realize that I'm not in the mansion anymore. I'm disoriented. I look at Jihyo. I heard three days. Three days since what? I whimper as my head hurts. I curl into Sunghoon's lap and he rocks me back and forth.

"Sssh, it's fine." He whispers "Slowly."

I take a deep breath in.

"We're back at the North main HQ." Hoseok says getting my attention "The mansion was destroyed three nights ago. You've been asleep for...two weeks."

I blink at him.

"Destroyed?" I muster

"Yeah. We saw it burn into a fire." Yoongi says appearing "There was an unusual flux of Monsters. No idea why. With you injured inside, and barely alive, we didn't want to risk it. We escaped. We took everything with us." He looks at Namjoon "Sorry about the library." He shakes his head

"You're alive. That's what matters." Namjoon says "Hoseok carried you. All the way here." He points to the man who barely smiles at me

"During your time away, Jimin changed. I almost didn't recognize him." Yoongi reveals "He got quiet. Like a silent killer." He bites his lips "When he saw you, he didn't say anything. He didn't even really look at you. It's like he became an emotionless shell that kills. Jungwon wasn't any better."

"It's flippant." Jay holds me "Jungwon almost killed Jihyo. Jimin didn't do anything to hold him back. Niki and Heeseung had the hard time of their life." He sighs

"How's she?" I grit the headache fading away "I need to eat something." I whisper to Sunghoon

"Got it." He says putting me back on the bed "Jihyo is here idiot."
