Hybrid 14.11 : Reconnected

11 MONTHS LATER

"Can you make a copy of this please?"

"Yes of course." I stand up from my workspace and smile at my boss Maria.

I've been working for three months now in this small jewelry shop. I work as both a designer and an administrator. Maria is 5 years older than me. She accepted my interview right away. Her company was small. I finished my cursus in University in an accelerated manner. I was again in my hibernation period and would have all my afternoon free.

"How are you feeling right now?"

I raise my head to look at Felix. He works at the upper floor for Mark's company. Maria had located the space below about two month ago and when Mark learned I worked for this company he lowered the rent to a misery. We had also moved house with my parents, closer to their work and closer to mine.

"I'm fine, Fel." I smile "Congrats on your promotion by the way." I smile at my brother.

"Thanks, sis." He smiles. He looks outside and it is snowing "It's been almost been a year."

A year.

A year since I severed my links with my mates. 11 month exactly today. I cried a lot. I regretted a lot. However, I never went looking for them and they never came looking for me. It was a fairy tale with a tragic ending. I smile at my brother who takes me in his arms.

"You're okay." He whispers.

My parents and my brothers had been supporting me. Some of my brothers found their mate and they also supported me. We had all a very good relationship. I never met them again. I didn't even see them on the TV. A lot of speculations....however their ambitions had not been impacted. They swallowed every company they could.

"How did the launch go?" He asks me.

I grin.

"Everything was sold out. We received a lot of complaints about the small stocks. You know Maria. She wants to keep it small and luxurious." I smile.

We did use rare gems and only the people working for Maria knew exactly how they worked. We were a small company of 5 people. The designer and administrator aka me, the one directing everything so Maria, the jeweler Simon, the metal manipulator Leila and finally our Marketing manager Logan.

"Morning, doe." Logan the bear hybrid wished.

He had a very bright personality unlike his very imposing appearance. We were all hybrids in this company. Simon was a beaver hybrid. Leila was a cat hybrid and Maria was a shepherd dog hybrid. It was like a third family.

"Morning Logan." I smiled "Coffee?" I said as I finished printing.

"Yes." He answered "How are you feeling this morning? Maria told me your hibernating period was starting." He frowns worriedly.

"It'll be okay. I'm going to have the afternoon free for this month. I'll work on designs and rest when I want to." I smile.

"Overachiever." Logan and Felix say at the same time before smiling at each other.

"Please." Leila is on her knee and I sigh.

This situation had started when I passed by the atelier that was in a soundproof room on the same floor. Leila was a very efficient and cheerful red haired woman. Here, she was inviting me to a quadruple blind date lunch.

"You know I'm not searching for a relationship." I whisper as I frown.

"I promise that they are all very good partners. There's even someone from Jeon Company."
