"Melody!" My best friend from university jumps into my arms. "It's been so long!"
"Only a week and a half." I chuckle as I hug Elana back. I met her in my first year of college. She is a kind girl. Not a snitch of what I know. I exchange a few eye contacts with other hybrids. Slight nods and eyes lightening up. I have many hybrid friends, but interacting with them isn't that easy.
I notice Joshua, sat in the back of the classroom, watching. This was the condition Justice gave me. Everything was done according to my wish, but I had to have a bodyguard with me. Surprisingly, Joshua volunteered for the task. Moreover, I had to go back every evening to Hybrid Town. It was only a thirty-minute drive, thus plausible every day.
"Are you feeling better?" She asks.
"I'm on the good way." I had not talked with my mates. At all. I wondered if the situation was even going to improve one day. There was a charity event in the next few days and that already made me anxious since I had to accompany them. As their mates.
"How is the top 1?"
I glared at the guy behind me. Tyler had been able to pass the year thanks to his daddy's money and flaunted how rich he was everywhere. He hated hybrids more than anything and jumped on everything that was moving basically.
"Tyler, don't even start." Elana stood in front of me "Melody was sick a whole week and you're going to make her sick again." She spat at him.
"Is that true baby?" Tyler stood in front of my table now.
"If you don't want my feet in your balls, I suggest you go sit down." I smile at him.
"Oh, I'm so scared." He acted taking a few steps away. His friends laughed behind him. "Don't worry Seyton, soon enough you'll beg for me."
"That's something that will never happen, Mathis." I slam my computer shut "Even in your wildest dreams."
He smirks and walks away. I hated Tyler to my very core, even more since he had tried to drug my drink last year. Fortunately, Elana had noticed and slammed my drink on the floor before I could take a sip. I watched Tyler sit in the back row and my eyes passed on Joshua. He was staring at me. I sighed.
"Is that a new guy?" Elana asked pointing to Joshua.
"Seems so." I vaguely answer.
"I hope he won't get bothered by Tyler." She sighs as she opens her book "Let me help you catch up."
I didn't mind Joshua and Tyler confronting. Because Tyler would probably be crying hard and that wasn't to displease me. However, I had no idea if he would take my side. I decided to focus my attention on what Elana was explaining instead. It was more worth it anyhow.
"Are you going to the H cafeteria?" Elana asks as we stood in front of the library.
"Yeah, I will catch up with people." I smile.
There were few humans that headed there. For obvious reasons. The cafeteria of the chemistry department was for hybrids. There were no distinct rules written anywhere, but that's just how it was for several years now. I dutifully made my way over until I felt a more insistent look on me.
"Yes, Joshua?" I turned around. The fox hybrid was that much closer to me.
"Why are you heading towards a hybrid place?" He asked.
"Do you have to report each of my stops to Seokjin?" I called him casually. I wouldn't dare in front of him, but here I didn't risk much. Except a rictus on Joshua's face.
