As we arrive home, my father looks even more worried than before. As we live in a village 30 km away from the city, we could see the damages. The centrals had exploded everywhere without explained reasons currently.
"Do you have any idea as to what happened?" I asked him nervously as dark fog was more or less covering the sky
"None. We work as scientist and we've been requested by the government to take planes towards the US." He grimly says "You are to stay home. Your sister will come and fetch you."
I look at my father whose hands are white from clenching the wheel too much.
"Dad, calm down. It must be a natural catastrophy and everything will be back to normal soon." I try to reassure him.
"We didn't register anything at the University Eli." He says looking at me as the car stops.
If nothing was registered at the University, then it wasn't something like an earthquake. Your mind was rushing but no logical information could explain it.
"A virus." My father finally says "We were contacted by the government to join a team of scientist that would make a vaccine."

An epidemic had started then, but I couldn't see the link with the electric centrals. Before I could ask anything to my father, we arrived home. Military men were surrounding our house. My mother was practically pushed out of your home, carried by several men as she fought.
" My daughter!" She screamed "I want to see her right now! Put me down this instant."
"Stay in the car." Your father gritted as he too his seatbelt off.

I watched my father walk up to the military men carrying my mother and talking to them. The voice didn't get any louder and my mom was out down. She ran to our car as I just had gotten out, pulling my own suitcase out.
"Mom, what's happening?" I asked the fear gnawing at me.
I never liked military men. Of course, they fought for the security of the population and had all my respect. However, the weapons they carried and their stance was always uncomfortable to me. My mind trailed off to Freetown where Jimin and the others were. Where my coworkers were. Everything was so sudden.
"Just out the kid with them." A military man with a beret screamed "We lost enough time as it is!"

A man grabbed my suitcase and put it on the military truck as my mom clenched her grip on my arm and grabbed me towards a dark green pickup. My father had already sat inside and crossed his arms over his chest. The beret guy finally sat with us and the trucks departed. The man sighs heavily before bowing his head to my mother.

"I apologize for my men, Madam. We are heading towards a safety shelter and from there you'll be eventually transferred to a working station abroad with your husband." He explained "Your eldest daughter was already transferred towards a sage unit with her boyfriend."
"And my youngest daughter? She is a scientist like us." My father speaks up.

"She'll be required to help at the shelter." He glances at me "She is a mere student and won't be able to be of any help right now."
My father wants to refute but I shake my head. I was already satisfied that my parents, Julia and Alex would stay safe. I was truly only a student.
"Can you tell us what is happening, Sir?" I ask him.
"I am Commander Lim Ye. In charge of the security of the city and special occasions like this one." He introduces himself "A chemical bin was spilled inside of the main electric central. It was a voluntary act." He grimly adds.

I frown. A chemical spill is indeed a huge problem, but I don't understand how it could have caused an explosion like it did and why in different cities. Commander Ye seems to read into my mind. He thins his lips before glancing at my parents.

"Other details will be explained at the camp." He finally decides.

I narrow my eyes at him, but my mother taps my thigh. It's useless to insist now. The safety shelter is basically the military base of the city. Soldiers everywhere. Weapons being cleaned. It truly looks like an apocalyptic kind of world.
