55. Silent Cry

- August 20th, Friday, Seoul -

It has been roughly five days since Jia last saw Stray Kids but it has been less than 24 hours since she was with Bang Chan because he'd stop by her apartment every day after completing his daily schedule. The group was working hard on preparing the album - song recordings, MV shootings, dance practices, etc. But that didn't stop Chan from coming to Jia, falling into her arms, and just staying like that until they would either have sex or just fall asleep after snuggling. She would give him daily massages, feed him dinner, and later cuddle (or have sex) with him, caressing his head until he'd fall asleep. That relaxed Chan and he'd feel content but he would always wake up in the middle of the night and sneak out of her bed and apartment, leaving a cute handwritten note on the pillow.

And now... it was already the 20th, it was raining like mad, and Jia just saw her parents off. They came to visit and see the apartment but the argument surfaced and left Jia frustrated and crying by the window.

That all happened because the family watched some TV program after lunch, sitting on the couch and eating pudding when the "breaking news" came up. It was a paparazzi shot, a video taken by those ruthless celebrity hunters, showing a popular male idol holding hands with a girl. Jia was immediately reminded of the same kind of news she saw in Japan and a popular Japanese idol getting a flash mob of paparazzi with his girlfriend. The news now showed that the company that idol was in fired him immediately because he didn't want to break up with the girl. 

After the news about the male idol came one with a female idol this time, getting caught in such scandal as well. Her company didn't fire her but demanded that she break up with her boyfriend, putting her on hiatus and postponing her future activities.

So, after seeing the news, Jia's mother started the "I told you so" talk, lecturing Jia and trying to convince her that her relationship with Bang Chan won't end well. Jia tried to talk some sense into her mother, telling her that they're careful, and that they have security, but that only stirred her mother's anger more and she went on rampant, continuing to lecture Jia as to why she should break up with Chan. That led Jia to stomp to the door and "kindly" ask her parents to leave, not caring if they saw her crying face.

So now... Jia was standing by the window, the rain pouring and staining the tall glass, as she gripped her phone in her shaking hands. From the TV went an SKZ playlist she put on after connecting her phone to it.

"Sorry, I love you" played and Jia cried more, unable to imagine her life without Bang Chan and Stray Kids. Every bit of the song, every sound of their voices, made her remember all the moments they've shared and it was very hard for her to let go of them. Because she loved them... she loved Chan.

The phone buzzed in her hands and she unlocked it to see Chan's reply to her previous message:

Jia included an emoji in her message to hide her real feelings, not wanting to burden Bang Chan as he was already under enough stress because of the comeback. So, she replied with a single "okay", adding a heart to it, and dropped to her knees.
