JEREMIAH'S P.O.V

Keep on missing jejak si Emily Rose is making me crazy. CRAZY!

Seminggu lebih sudah saya tidak tenang masa bekerja.

First, I lost her when she sped off with her friends in Novotel. Then I lost her again in the same hotel but this time she wasn't the one that I was waiting for. Secara kebetulan saya nampak si Emily Rose or whatever her name is pada masa tu.

Hurmmm, is her name really Emily Rose? Ini menimbulkan keraguan bagi saya sebab hairan juga the hotel staffs tidak kenal sesiapa bernama Emily Rose.

Hurmmm.

PAK.

"Sssss! fu-"
"Ehemmm." Dad.

Jeremy yang duduk bertentangan dengan saya
terkekeh-kekeh sana macam munyit. Kalau bukan ada dad dalam our BOD meeting, saya swing balik sudah ni pen di kepala Jeremy.

Nampaknya dad akan menggantikan tempat Jerome sementara untuk memastikan our project collaboration with ACP Group berjalan lancar.

"Jeremiah." Dad with his annoyed tone. "I asked you for the 3rd time, what was the labour cost incurred last month. And you, Jeremy, should we add more labour on ground or we'll make do with what we have now?"

Tak. Tak. Tak. The sound of dad's fingers tapping on the desk waiting for our answers.

Really? 3rd time? Dad must be exaggerating.

"It's only about 10% dad." Saya jawab.

"That's underpaid costs, Jeremiah." Suara dad suram. "The least it should be is 20%."

"Tu lah kedekut kan. Kena saman baru tau." Jeremy muttered under his breath.

Saya dengar bah tu, Mie! Saya humban lah bah ni pen sama dia ni.

"You." Dad memandang tajam ke arah Jeremy.

Tunggu! ini tidak boleh jadi.

"Jerome approved on the labour reduction cost, dad." Saya mencelah. I can't let myself to be blamed, right?

"Ck. Janganlah bah kasi libat orang yang tiada sini untuk defend diri dia." JEREMY!

Ingat saya tipukah? Masih segar-bugar lagi dalam ingatan saya. And I have witnesses during the meeting!

"Dad-" Saya masih tidak puas hati.
"I'm talking to your brother." Dad cut me off.

"Brother?" Jeremy buat bodoh lagi bah kan! Dia buat seakan dia mencari "brother" yang dad mentioned.

"Jangan bah pura-pura cari orang yang andang-andang tiada sini." Hahahaha! Padan muka kau, Mie, kena balas.

Jeremy menghela nafas berat. Drama saja tu, maka saya nampak the end of his lips twitching as if he's going to smile. As if it's amusing.

Memang bergeliga ni otak si Jeremy kalau mau kasi kena orang just for his amusement.

"The labour's always short, dad, as insisted by MY BROTHERS." Dia tekan lagi 'MY BROTHERS'.

Dad tunduk dan memejamkan mata sambil tangan dia memicit mata dia macam terlampau sudah tekanan.

Pantas saya collect all the files in front of me.

"Dad, I'll handle the labour costs and increase the headcount." Saya bilang sambil berdiri.

Terbulat mata dia nampak saya berdiri, siap dengan semua file di tangan saya lagi tu. Ni kali saya terpaksa angkat semua file saya sendiri memandangkan setiausaha saya resign lagi.

"Where are you going?" Dad tanya sambil mengerutkan dahi. "We're not done yet."

"Ya, belum selesai lagi ni. Banyak kau hutang saya, miyo." Kitai! I hate that nickname Miyo. Ada lah tu sejarah disebalik 'Miyo' tu. Ugh!
