   (Y/n's POV)

I finished in the bathroom and headed back out towards the main room. They all seemed to be talking about lights out. I joined Ali again, and I sat next to him. I heard a little bit about Sang-woo wanting to stay in pairs? Did he know something about the next game?

"A pair can keep each other awake," Sang-Woo started.

Oh. So they were talking about keeping watch? Nice.

"Just one person might leave and betray our team," he continued.

The old man raised his hand.

"I can... be first watch, then. You don't really sleep a lot when you're old."

I was sitting fairly close to him, and I put my hand on his arm.

"That's very kind of you to suggest sir, I-"

"Excuse me," a random guy I hadn't even noticed before interrupted. "Are we just supposed to trust an old man like you to not sleep on the job all night?"

It seems that his words hurt the old man, so I gave him a little hug. Gi-Hun seemed to silently thank me for doing that because he wanted to as well.

"I'm not tired yet," Ali said.

"Me neither. I'll go with you, Ali," I suggested.

Ali looked at me and nodded.

"Then I'll be next. You wake me up the second you get tired," Gi-Hun said to both of us. I nodded.

"Then why don't I join you on second watch... assuming that's okay with you?" The old man said.

Gi-Hun nodded and agreed that they would pair together.

We heard ticking constantly now and my eyes went up to the board. It said that there were 40 players left and 41,600,000,000 won (a little over 33 million dollars as of now) . We've come so far. My whole group. None of the originals had died yet, and there were 416 that had passed already.

Looking down, I realized that there was little 3 seconds until lights out. I got ready. Ali and I were the only ones not snuggling up under our blankets.

We looked out in the darkness together. I suddenly heard something rustle. I instinctively looked over, but it was just Ali. He was sweetly trying to give me his dinner.

"Have some of this, Miss Y/N. I saved this from earlier when they gave it to us for supper so I could give it to you."

"Why don't you eat it, Ali? You don't have to give it to me," I replied.

"Today, you said you would stick by me even if one of us got kicked from the group. I am very grateful for your loyalty, Miss Y/N."

I smiled and took the corn. I looked at it and then gripped it with both hands. I broke it in half and handed Ali one piece.

    "Here. We can share it."

He munched on it happily. I suddenly thought that maybe we should get to know each other.

"Hey, Ali? How old are you?"

   "I am 33, Miss Y/N."

"Geez, Ali, you look fresh out of college. You don't look a day over 25."

"Thank you, Miss Y/N." He chuckled.

"You can call me just Y/n if you want. We're friends. No need for you to address me like I'm your superior."
