"The more time I spend with you, the more complete my heart becomes."

-Unknown

"NO!" Kol's voice screamed. Penelope fell backwards and she felt someone catch her before hitting the ground. "What did you do?!" She heard Kol scream. Penelope looked up, black circles were beginning to cloud her vision. "Come on, Penny...stay with me." He told her but Penelope closed her eyes.

"Come on!"

"Drink!" Penelope's mouth was forced open and something pressed against her lips, then something warm, bitter and metallic reached her tongue. "Please, drink! I can't pull out the stake until you start drinking." It was Kol's voice...

Penelope weakly reached up and held onto his wrist as she started to drink his blood. It tasted disgusting, it was nothing like Elijahs, but she knew she needed it. Penelope felt herself being lifted up, she cried in pain but her cries were met with silence. "I've got to get you home..." Penelope's eyes closed as she tried to continue drinking Kol's blood, but she was beginning to grow weaker. "No, come on Penny-love...please." He pleaded, and she groaned when she felt him stop running. "No, no, no, come on please." Kol cried out to her as he held her tighter to his chest. Penelope felt herself being placed on the ground softly before her torso was being lifted. Kol was holding her again.

"I've got to take the stake out now..." He told her but Penelope barely registered what Kol was saying. "Penny, drink." He told her as he pressed his wrist on her lips again and Penelope shook her head. "You've got to drink..." Penelope groaned, she felt the stake tightening around her chest. "I'll take it out once you start drinking, I promise."

Penelope took his wrist weakly and started drinking again. There was an uncomfortable tug and a sharp pain.

Penelope shot up right with a gasp, her hand going straight to her chest. Nothing was there. It was just a dream. Penelope told herself as she took a deep breath. She reached over and grabbed her phone and saw the time: 8:48 a.m. She glared at the clock, but knew she had to get up. If she didn't, she knew Elijah would be coming into their room in twelve minutes to wake her up. Penelope usually didn't sleep past nine a.m. She paused, tempted to pretend to sleep for the next twelve minutes just to see how he would wake her up. She shook her head, she couldn't do that. She had three custom orders to make and she knew it would take her most of the day if she waited longer.

Pulling herself from the bed, Penelope went to the dresser and took out a t-shirt, it was one of Elijah's few and one she likes to wear when she's baking. Pulling it over her head, Penelope finished her normal morning things before making her way down to the kitchen. She smiled when she saw Elijah at the stove and the smell of eggs and bacon filled the room. Wrapping her arms around his waist, Penelope kissed his back softly before resting her cheek against him.

"Good morning, my love." He greeted her softly and she gave him a gentle squeeze. "Did you have the dream again?" He asked her gently. He recognized her silent greeting as the one she would give when she woke up from the same dream. Penelope only nodded. Elijah let out a long sigh as he rubbed her arm with his free hand.

"It's been six and a half months....why am I still having that same dream." Penelope sighed in defeat as she pulled away from him to sit up on the counter top.

"You almost died, Penelope." Elijah replied gently. "You don't come that close to death and not be affected."

"But I'm not...affected." Penelope groaned. "I've moved on, I almost died, so what? I would've turned anyway."
