"And you're sure you want to do this?" Elijah asked her, turning to look at her. Penelope only nodded. "There won't be any coming back from this..." He added but she nodded her head again.
"I know," She turned to him. "But...he's gotten away with too much for too long. I was stupid to let him live-"
"No," Elijah shook his head. "You were, and never are, stupid. You are kind and compassionate, and no matter how kind and compassionate you are... everyone has a limit and you reached yours," He pushed her hair back behind her ear and rubbed her cheekbone lightly with his index finger. "I will say that revenge doesn't make the pain go away."
"I know," She nodded. "And... I'll always miss Grandma, and I'm sad she's gone... but I know she found peace. This isn't for revenge... it's for justice," She said slowly. "He killed my Grandma to get to me... to kill me to kill you. He tried to kill me at Grandma's wake... he tried to kill me at the mansion," She shook her head. "No more. I'm done being the victim. That's all I've been my whole life, and I never fought back, I never stood up for myself, not until recently," Elijah looked at her, rubbing her back softly; he realized now what this meant for her. "I'm a Mikaelson now, and we don't let our enemies get away. Those who wrong us do not get to walk free," He felt himself smirk at her words, and he looked at her with pride.
"He should be coming to," He whispered and reached down, picked up a water bottle and handed it to her. "Go get him, wife," He encouraged and she smiled at him, taking the water bottle from his hand as she walked closer to the body laid out on the ground in the middle of the clearing outside the cemetery. She looked up and saw that the sun was beginning to rise. There was a groan and she looked down and saw Damon Salvatore move his head, hissing in pain as he tried to move his hands that were pinned to the ground with vervaine soaked wooden stakes.
Unscrewing the water bottle, she began to pour a little of it over his face. He screamed in pain, his skin sizzling from the vervaine in the water. His head kept turning side to side in pain, trying to break free but the pain from the water and the stakes in his hands, legs and stomach prevented it and only added more pain. "I'm sorry, does this hurt?" She asked innocent as she finished pouring the rest of the water on him. One he stopped writhing in pain, he glared up at her, and if she wasn't so angry she would've shivered from the murderous intent in his gaze.
"I've done what your hubby said, I've stayed away," He hissed.
"Oh, I know," She nodded as she moved to kneel on the ground carefully and pulled the old ring off his finger. His head whipped to her and tried to ball his hand ot keep her from doing so but the stakes in his hands made him hiss in pain. She smiled as she held up the ring, looking at it then she held out her hand and instantly Elijah was at her side helping her stand.
"I stayed away-" He hissed and continued to break free and Elijah handed Penelope another bottle of water. She unscrewed it, and poured a little over one palm, making him scream out and she walked around him slowly, making sure she poured a little water on each wound and as she passed Elijah, he handed her another water bottle and she unscrewed it again and poured it on his face, only doing a little at a time.
"I know," She nodded. "But that's not why you're here," She shook her head. "I wanted to come back for a little visit, you know visit my childhood home, get some stuff of my Grandma's. You remember my Grandma right?" She asked with a sinister smile, it grew as she saw the realization reflect in Damon's eyes. She tilted the bottle and poured a little more vervaine water on her, and he clenched his teeth shut and moved his head but she smiled down at him. "Yeah, we figured out your plan, why you did it. If my grandma died, then I'd come rushing home to see if it was true, or come home because that's where'd I'd want to be right? Or maybe that I'd run off somewhere and you could find me, and kill me," She said and when he didn't say anything. "Right?" She asked but Damon clenched his mouth shut, heaving and struggling to breath so she poured more water on him. "Right?" She hissed.
