Drinking tea under a candlelight
Sitting through the ending credits
Catching snowflakes on our faces
Dreaming of love that conquers it all.
'Cause we are made of stardust
[my singing} Yeah, we are . . .
[the gospel choir] Yeah, we are . . .
Watching cartoons just for fun
Going on morning walks in the forest
Dancing while cooking our dinner
Praying for many quiet Sundays.
'Cause we are made of stardust
[my singing] Yeah, we are . . .
[the gospel choir] Yeah, we are . . .
Things couldn't get any less simple
It seems I wanted you, I wanted us forever.
Our love would shine through the darkness
No hurt could touch us there anymore.
'Cause we are made of stardust...
Stardust . . .
We are made of stardust...
Yeah, yeah, of . . . stardust . . .
I lost myself when I fell in love with you
Memories that once made me smile
In the dark nights and in the cold rain
Are now the cause of my deep-cut pain.
'Cause we are made of stardust...
Stardust . . .
We are made of stardust...
Yeah, yeah, of . . . stardust . . .

A/N: So... a few years ago I had this idea for a song called Stardust(it helps that one of my favourite books is Stardust by Neil Gaiman) but only got to a few words, not full verses. Today I listened to a song by John Legend with the same title, which came out of me. it's not perfect, it's far from it, but I have a melody for it and maybe I'll try it out someday. Until then, let's pretend it is a little poem, a love story even, like most of them that I post.
Have a good weekend!
With love,
M.
