The Tides Are Closing In Tonight

The tides are closing in tonight

For another day of agonizing ache

Watching the sun go down with its

Final blink; glad to take the next rise

As I'm feeling like a useless soul.

How does it truly work for us —

Carrying yesterday's pain with us

Wherever we go in this circle of life

Hiding it behind the great dread

That is crushing everything into one.

Leaves are dancing in the golden light

Making me wonder for a slip-second

If all of this is worth the fight with

My dreams getting taken from me

While they'd enjoy their stunts.

Why does it keep rolling for us —

Seeing them struggle for a good meal

Glimpses of a reality they'd never know

Like their hearts are made of stone

And really, no one needs to know.

A/N: Another one because why the heck not! (:

I have come to realize that writing poetry in a go is kind of therapeutic for me and makes me understand what is going on in my mind, which is, in some ways, nice. When you deal with anxiety on a daily basis creating writing can be a blessing; you can express yourself and share those expressions, if that makes sense here.

I hope you've had a good week so far!!!

With love,

M.
