I'm watching you gather around
Faces full of sorrow as you'd try to
Imagine a different ending for me
Not quite accepting of this gear.
It's been months since I last saw
All of you in the same room
Regretting so many hurtful words
We said to each other back then.
I'm seeing you deflecting with the truth
Hearts full of fear and anguish at the fact
That I'm no more here, no more breathing
As you'd have to go on with life's game.
While I hope that you'll feel peace in certain
Moments when grief feels extremely hollow
Taking away most of your senses to embrace
The ghost of my being in every part of your day.
. . .

A/N: Hi! Back with another poem here! (:
Since I joined the poets server on Discord created by one lovely soul it's been nice connecting to and with other writers and their writing - it's been such a blessing in many ways. This here, heartbreaking poem about my late brother, came from a daily prompt idea that was posted there and I really like it. No, I love it! It's quite healing and also a very good reflection of what he might have felt. So, I hope you enjoyed it. (:
Have a good rest of September!
With love,
M.
