They'd say that the ache I hold onto
In the seasons of change I walk into
Is the one that brings me way down
Building my own cause of affliction.
But what if this is the only thing
That keeps me going in the dark
Giving me a glimmer of hope for
Days that have lots of beauty to see.
They'd also say that the choices I make
Paves a path for tales of anguish and joy
Letting me have both sides of the canvas
As I'm taking another step inside the fire.
But what if this is what I need to ignite
That all of my deepest dreams are worth
The great waves of pain crashing on me
All through the night, all through my life.

A/N: Hi y'all! It's been a while since I posted any of my poems because I have chosen other apps and sites to do so and have also built a nice community of fellow poets, but I thought it'd be nice to say hi to you on here and share something new of mine. This one – as most of them are – is very personal and I hope it can give you a bit of inspiration or even motivation to go on, whatever is your current battle. At the end of the tunnel there is always a light - ignite it! :)
With love,
M.
