A vivid memory of little me sneaking
Outside to sit under the starry night sky
Sending off some sweet wishes for coming
Days or whatever the Universe had planned.
A peek into simpler times can be dreadful;
To think back on all of those that build me
Into the person I am now, with fiery magic
Its afterglow brings even more liveliness.
That clueless child had a head full of dreams
Imagining all kinds of faiths for her people
Blocking out the hurt of situations she had no
Control over, only to pray to the stars.
These flashbacks can create a very false grip
Of all the ways she chooses to share her story
Writing countless restarts to cover the flaws
Being an ever-needed change in this world.
. . .

A/N: Alright, this one is a bit unusual from all the others I've written about myself and my personality as I've grown into the person I am today, but I thought it'd be lovely to take this look and see what I can come up with. As you can see, the first two verses are in the first person, the other two are in the third and I think it's a nice touch and brings more awareness to those types of children who have to grow up independently. Even if they get some guides and advice it's not strong enough to break through the barriers they've built for themselves. I don't even know, it's a complex topic and I am a middle child, so I might look too much into this, but oh well.
Hopefully, you liked it and if you didn't, I'm always open for discussions. (:
With love,
M.
