#11 Amortentia

Note: I know a lot of people have already had this idea or made videos about it. The first person I got the idea from is named @mimimarauder on TikTok (should def check her out)

The boys sat on the floor in their dorm room staring at the bottle in front of them. They knew what it was, they just didn't know if they were willing to try it despite their overwhelming curiosity.

Sirius sat back with his hands up, "I'm not going first"

"Sirius you were the one that brought it here?" Remus said, also sitting back from the bottle.

"Pete why don't you go first?"

"I've already smelt it, when I went to find Remus, I still don't know who it is" he said, slightly sad

"That's alright Pete- ok then James you go, you know what you're going to smell right?"

"Fine you babies, I'll go first" he took a sniff of the potion, "ew the quidditch change room" the other boys shook their heads in disgust knowing full well that would not have smelt nice.

"Zonko's shop"

"Understandably"

"...I don't know what that smell is?"

"What do you mean?" Remus asked confused, Sirius went to smell the bottle than realized it was obviously going to smell different.

"I've smelt this before but I can't put my finger on it" James looked down confused, "it's not a Lily smell though" he frowned and the other boys sat in curiosity.

"Well I'll go next" Sirius took a sniff, "the quidditch pitch, motorcycles... parchment? Chocolate" he smiled, Sirius had never expressed his feelings to Remus but this weirdly put his mind at ease.

"Ok Remus that leaves you" James said still looking at the potion confused.

"Fine. The library"

"Nerd"

"Shut up. Butterbeer and mint conditioner?"

"Mint conditioner?" Peter looked at him, "that's oddly specific"

Remus tilted the bottle then it hit him where he had smelt it before, he went red and looked at literally anything else but Sirius.

"Mooney, are you alright?" Sirius asked

"Yeah yeah I'm fine just realized I left something downstairs, be right back"

The boys watched Remus quickly leave the room, "well that wasn't strange" Peter commented as they saw the door close.

James looked at the bottle again then back at his friends, "I'm going to go find Marlene and give it to the girls, only fair they smell it too"

"That's a fabulous idea, I'm going to go find Remus in the meantime" Sirius hopped off the ground and waved his friends goodbye

"Alright, I'm going to go have something to eat in the great hall and ponder on what I smelt" Peter grabbed his robe and walked out.

After her chat with James, Marlene had asked her friends to come upstairs to their dorm. She placed the bottle on the floor and started thinking about the things she might smell.

"Hey Marls what's up?" Mary came over and sat next to her, staring at the bottle in front of them, "what's that?"

"That is amortentia," Marlene said, not diverting her gaze.

"Merlin! Where did you get it from?"

"James gave it to me, he said we had to smell it because they did and it would only be fair"
