#63 The Riff Off

In light of some tragic news we've had recently, here is Sirius introducing Regulus to the world of Riff Offs (if you're a pitch perfect fan I advise you sing this entire one shot)

Also for the record I do have a one shot currently being written in memory of our beloved Dame Maggie Smith, our icon will be dearly missed and never forgotten🕊️

Sirius had been hinting at a secret event ever since Regulus joined Evan and Barty's band. Sirius had been telling Regulus that "it was his time" and "you are finally ready" but Regulus had no idea what any of this meant, that is until he found himself standing out the front of a painting with Sirius one Saturday evening.

The painting was of a quaint cottage in the middle of a field, rolling hills filled with long grass and flowers, trees in all shades of green and a stone brick home in the centre, it's wooden door just visible. Sirius whispered a "password" in front of the painting and Regulus watched as the painting zoomed in until it got to the cottages front door, and a real wooden door appeared in front of them.

"After you my brother"

"Hogwarts never fails to amaze me" Regulus said through a smile as he pushed on the old hinges and a corridor was revealed. Regulus turned back to see Sirius check their surroundings before also coming in and closing the painting behind them, Regulus could hear people laughing and the sound of music not far ahead.

They got to the end and Regulus stared in astonishment of the room, a whole room he didn't know existed that was fully equipped with karaoke equipment, a bar and plenty of tables and chairs to either eat at or dance on. Sirius clapped when he saw the usual Hufflepuff who hosted hold out her wand,

"We made it just in time" Sirius smiled,

"Sirius what is this place?" Regulus turned around in a circle, still unable to believe this had been behind a cottage painting? And that most of his friends were here already and knew of its existence.

"This my dear brother, is The Riff Off"

"The Riff Off?"

"Mhm a place where everyone can get wasted or high until they lose all sense of reality, on one condition"

"And what's that?"

"You sing"

Regulus stepped back, "I do not sing you know this"

"I know I know, plus it's your first time. We'll show you how it's done before you try doing it"

"Try? No I will never do this." (As the author I can confirm that this is a lie and Regulus did in fact in the future partake in a riff off)

"Uh huh sure, now hush it's about to begin"

The lights dimmed until it was practically just the huffle-host in view with her wand, she gave a bow as people clapped and cheered for her before shushing the crowd.

"Welcome back everyone to another Riff Off! Our first category is.." she pointed to a small projector that had a category spinner on it, "ooo songs about butts"

"Ok so basically anything on the radio right?" Marlene said to Lily and Mary who were thinking of what song to pick for their group.

(side note: am I the only one who didn't know Marlene, Lily and Mary had their version name of the Marauders which is 'The Valkyries" that's so cool! And I will be using it from now on to describe that trio! Is it from a book I haven't read yet orrrrr?)

"Let's start with Dorcas and Pandora!"

Pandora started in, "she had a dumps like a truck, truck, truck! Thighs like a what, what, what!"
