Tasteless (Poem)

One shot
And another once more
It soothe my throat
A craving never felt this sure..

A whisky whispered
As my mouth surrendered
To its real bitter taste
Felt I'm lost in a cloudy haze..

The moment seems surreal
It's like a new escape
From a hurtful reality
I'd likely wanted to fade..

The alcohol stings
Through my blood, in every vein
Oh how I love it to lasts
And for days or months to remain..

I'm addicted to the smell
As it hovered my whole being
I'm craving for another
Let me drink till forever..

A liquor for a lost soul
Cannot relieve a pain at all
It only shows a temporary paradise
It's like wearing a mask, a beautiful disguise..

Oh and slow
My hands are numb
I'm craving for more
I'm treating it like a sweet plum..

For every night
It's like my thirst quencher
Let it heat my wholeness
Would I not regret this..

The ninth bottle
Never got me weak
I'm so much into it
Please do hear my plead..

No, don't take it away
Let me have this in my place
I could not get enough
It's like an irresistible drug..

Till it knocked me down
And push my head to sleep
My emotions got tired
I couldn't even feel one of my knees..

I woke up to a sunlight
Smoothly touching my skin
I was shocked for a moment
It wasn't really a pure bliss..

I wander and there I've found
I'm still holding an empty bottle now
Looking at an empty glass
And a bucket of melting ice on my right.. 

Suddenly a tear fell from my eye
As flashbacks keep running around my mind
Cause beyond the empty glass of whisky in my hand
Was a tasteless, imperfect and broken past, that you could never understand..
