CHAPTER FORTY NINE !

A lot had happened since they made it back to alexandria. rick had got into a fight with jessie's husband, and pulled out a gun on all the residents in alexandria in the middle of the street. their entire groups places had been jeopardised. but then jessie's husband killed deanna's husband, reg, so deanna told rick to kill jessie's husband.

rick and morgan had reunited. rick wasn't what morgan thought he would be because of his whole 'all life is precious' saying that he had.

then, rick and the others found a huge herd. thousands and thousands of walkers heading in the direction of alexandria that they needed to get rid of before things went extremely bad. a lot of people were leading them away, daryl being one of them.

estella was watching the gate. she was stood with her crossbow on her back, waiting for daryl to come back safe. or any of the others that had gone out for that matter.

"hey." she heard a voice behind her, making her turn around.

it was ruby.

"hey." estella replied, turning back around.

"i didn't get a chance to speak to you recently. i just wanted you to know that i had nothing to do with what my brother did. i had no idea that he was going to do that." she spoke.

"mhm. it doesn't matter, it's over." estella said back.

"it does matter, he shouldn't have done that. it was wrong, and i hope we can still be friends." she said, softly.

"i never said we weren't friends." she replied.

"but you don't seem like you want to be." ruby said, walking over so she was stood beside estella. "if i knew that alfie and the others were going to do, i'd have stopped it. he said it was for my mom, but my mom wouldn't like what he's done. she wouldn't like what he and my dad turned into."

estella turned around to face her, putting a hand on her shoulder. "it's not your fault. i don't blame you. i'm sorry about your mom. she seemed really great."

"she was." ruby gave her a small smile.

"do you think everyone's gonna be safe out there moving that herd?" estella asked her.

"i hope so. they know how to handle themselves. rick's a good leader, that's what my grandma said." ruby replied.

"he is." she nodded. "there's no better leader out there."
