A/N: This is a short story that was supposed to be a long OS, but I divided it into parts for a dramatic effect. Sometimes I dream about a scene and start writing it, and it turns into a story. I hope you will enjoy it.

Eda opened her eyes the moment the plane touched Turkish soil. She was coming back home after months of being away. Months she had spent in prison, her grandmother closed her in and threatened to never let her go free. What Eda's grandmother didn't take into account was fate. She didn't anticipate that she would be in a car crash with her bodyguard and right hand in four months after taking Eda's freedom and that Eda would be finally free from her forever. Eda inherited everything from her, but she didn't care. The only thing she was interested in after the lawyer came to her was a code to the safe with Eda's passport.
Eda booked the flight to Istanbul the moment she had it in her hands. She couldn't contact her friends, she didn't have their numbers, but she would go to them the moment she would be in Istanbul. Eda only hoped Melo still lived in her old home.
When Eda got her freedom back, the biggest shock for her was learning about the actual date. She knew that after her accident, she had a memory issue. She didn't know what exactly happened to her and how Semiha got to take her to Italy, but she never expected that she had lost a year of her life. Eda initially thought she just went crazy and lost her mind when the lawyer told her it was 2021, not 2020, but when she finally got out into the world, she saw with her own eyes that she didn't lose her mind.
Eda watched Istanbul through the taxi window. The city didn't change that much, only a couple of new skyscrapers showed the passage of time. The driver brought her under the gate of her home. The garden looked taken care of. Someone still should live there.
Eda took a deep breath and entered the patio. The coffee cups were on the table, but no one sat there. The door to the house was open, she pushed it and made a couple of steps in. Her heart was relieved when she saw Melo and Ceren sitting on the sofa in the living room with their backs to her. They were talking about something with a concerned tone.
"I don't know if he can handle it any longer. I'm really afraid he is going to do something to himself."
"Do you suggest someone needs to keep an eye on him? He closed himself off in their house and refuses anyone's visits."
"He almost crashed his car the other day. I don't know what prompted him to change his mind, but he was going for it. I am really scared."
"Girls?" Eda spoke up quietly. They turned on their seats in shock.
"Eda?"
They looked at her with mouths open. Melo paled as she just saw a ghost.
Ceren stood up with tears in her eyes.
"Eda, is that really you? Am I not dreaming? You are standing here?"
Eda reached for her to hug her. "This is me."
"How is it possible?" Ceren was touching Eda as if she wanted to check if she was flesh.
"My grandmother took me after my accident."
Ceren put her hands to mouth, and at this moment Melo launched herself at Eda's neck.
"Tell me this is not a dream." She sobbed to her ears.
"I'm here, Melo." Eda cried. "I'm really here."
"Does Serkan know?"
Eda couldn't even ask who Melo was talking about when she heard a deep male voice behind her and it made her feel chills down her spine.
