"Serkan!" Eda called frantically, feeling tears coming to her eyes. He wasn't responding, and she was getting scared.
"Serkan, please!" Eda splashed him with cold water in desperate action, and it was what made him wake up. He groaned lightly, moving his head from side to side, and opened his eyes, looking straight at her, making her stomach jump.
"Serkan." Eda breathed out with relief and smiled, seeing him awake. He reciprocated her smile, looking dreamily at her, and Eda couldn't help but think that he had the most beautiful smile in the world.
"Am I dead?" He asked, reaching to her cheek and cupping it.
"What?" Eda asked in surprise, not even noticing that she put her hand over his and pressed it to her face. He looked so adorable when he was confused. She never thought he could be so cute. "No."
"No?" He repeated after her, still with a dreamy expression in his eyes, stroking her cheek.
"No." Eda giggled. He was probably making fun of her for hitting him in the head.
"No?" Serkan asked again, and this time something in his eyes changed as if he was coming back to his senses. He blushed and bolted up, taking his hand from Eda's face. "You hit me in the head?"
"Easy." Eda chuckled at his reaction and put her hands on his shoulders to keep him down as he was swaying even sitting. "It was not on purpose. Don't get up or you fall again."
Serkan rubbed his forehead and smiled slightly. "And I had to believe it wasn't an attempt on my life? After so many times when you tried to drown me in the ocean?"
"I see you are back to yourself. No, I decided I don't hate you anymore."
Serkan cocked his brows, surprised but couldn't help but smile at her. "This is your remorse for almost killing me?"
Eda rolled her eyes. "Maybe? But I don't have a reason anymore."
"Really?" Serkan narrowed his eyes at her. "Even after two years of mean comments?"
"Let's put it that way, I was equally mean to you." She extended her hand. "Truce?"
"Truce." Serkan shook her hand and smiled again, making Eda forget herself for a second ad she got lost in his smile.
"But if you will be mean to me, I'll be mean to you." Eda threatened.
"It's only fair, but you have a very sharp tongue, I might just defend myself."
"Man up, and don't be so softy." Eda stuck out her tongue, making him laugh. "This is my character trait. It's called a dark sense of humor. And you are talking now? You can't live ten minutes without being an ass."
"Maybe being an ass is my character trait." Serkan retorted with a cheeky smile.
"See, you should understand me then." Eda got up from the ground. "Will you live? I didn't damage you too much?"
Serkan checked his forehead, pressing on the bruise, which started to slowly form there. "No, I will sleep it off, and I should be fine. We should get some rest, it's already late, and we have a long drive ahead."
"Ok." Eda nodded and moved to the car where they earlier prepared the place to sleep on a double air bed.
Serkan climbed next to her, closing the back door and securing the jeep for the night. They divided the pillows and blankets between them, and none of them commented on the fact that they would share the bed.
"Iyi geceler, Eda Yildiz." Serkan whispered.
"Iyi geceler, Serkan Bolat." Eda answered, closing her eyes. She felt comfortable in his proximity. She knew she was safe.
