Eda changed, putting on a pair of white shorts and her favorite t-shirt over a red bikini, and went downstairs to join Piril by the pool. Even if it was the end of December, Engin liked his pool so much that he had built a glass ceiling over it, allowing him to enjoy it in winter and still have a nice view of the sky.

Piril looked at Eda, who just sat next to her on the big lounger and sighed heavily. "Not your ideal New Year's Eve?"

"I'm sorry, Piryl." Eda smiled apologetically. "I don't want to appear ungrateful, you had to change your plans because of me, but I was supposed to be with Serkan in a very romantic place right now. He promised me a surprise, and he always delivered. And now I have to deal with his annoying horny ass. You know he can be unbearable when he's jealous. He is even worst than last time."

"Yeah." The redhead snorted. "I noticed. He's hitting on you. Again. He acts exactly the same as last time when he lost his head for you. He's walking after you all the time and is killing with his gaze every man who even breathes in your direction. Isn't that a good thing?"

"No." Eda shook her head. "It would be, but it's terrible because I have to keep him at the distance."

"Can't we tell him the truth? He already fell for you."

"Last time he had a seizure, and it was only a week ago. I'm scared it can happen again. What if he gets a stroke or has internal bleeding? He didn't have his check-up yet, and I had to sign the agreement that as the team doctor I will comply with the recommended treatment not to harm his recovery, or I will be suspended or even fired."

"What?" Piril looked at Eda in shock, at which she smiled bitterly and just nodded. "Who's idea was that?!"

"And who do you think? Our high and mighty team manager. I don't know if this is revenge or what after Serkan told him to stick his advice into his ass, but I know he never liked me because of my relationship with Serkan."

"I heard from Engin Serkan had a huge fight with him just before the last race. What was that about?"

Eda sighed heavily before gathering her strength to answer. The subject of that conversation still was repelling for her. "He wanted to convince Serkan that getting married at the peak of his career is a bad choice, that I will pull him out of the racing as if I would ever want Serkan to abandon his dreams."

"What can you expect from a man like him." Piryl snorted. "There is a reason why he is divorced three times."

"I know. And you know Serkan. Imagine how he reacted. Telling him that he could go to hell was the nicest thing that Serkan said. And do you know what that bastard told him? That Serkan at least should keep our wedding quiet so his commercial potential wouldn't go down, and he was contemplating if he would even put him for the Abu Dhabi TVC commercial as if they didn't reach out specifically for Serkan. That was the part when Serkan told him he could always switch the team and go to Red Bull as they made him an offer."

"They did?" Piril asked, surprised, cocking her brows.

"Yes, they are willing to up whatever Serkan has in contract with Ferrari, but Serkan doesn't want to abandon his friends just for a fat check, and Ferrari was his dream, but he didn't tell that to that jerk."

"I can't believe it!" Piryl exclaimed, shifting in her seat, getting indignant. "He wanted me to keep your wedding quiet so there wouldn't be any mention on our social media and official channels. I never publicized your relationship, not for the team's gain but because I know you wanted to have your privacy as I do the same with my relationship with Engin, but I'm shutting down any nasty gossip about Serkan's flings that don't exist. Sometimes I wonder if our boss wants that gossip about Serkan floating around as if his image of womanizer didn't harm him more than helped. I know Serkan never liked that even years before you two met."
