Eda went around the estate, looking for Serkan, and saw his car still parked in its usual spot. He wouldn't go with Sirius for a walk in the neighborhood, he preferred different places, so he must've still been somewhere there.
She turned toward the stables and smiled, seeing the lights in his old house up. She hadn't been there for many months since she moved with Serkan into his ArtLife's apartment after their second engagement, but she missed this place.
Eda knew Aydan wanted Serkan to stay with her at the mansion, but Seyfi told her Serkan was avoiding his family house, and she had an idea why. He told her once, during one of many nights they spent talking about everything, wrapped tightly in each other arms. He said that since his brother's death, he felt unwelcome there and like a stranger. He couldn't sleep there, so he built a house for himself on the other side of the river to stay close to his family because even with their tumultuous relationship, he wanted to be with them, especially with his mother, no matter the fact that they couldn't communicate.
Eda could imagine how lost he must've felt right now, when he couldn't feel at home even if his own place, as it stood abandoned and empty for over half a year now. She was determined to find him this evening and take him to their apartment so he could finally experience some calmness, even if that would mean she couldn't stay there.
Eda passed the bushes growing along the path leading from the mansion to Serkan's old house and saw him sitting at the edge of the terrace, throwing Sirius a stick and looking mindlessly at the stable fence. Her heart ached at his helpless state. She wanted to hug him, kiss him, put her head on his chest, and just take in the warmth of his body and his scent she missed so much, but she knew it was too early, even if she also knew he wasn't indifferent to her.
She could feel it and see it in his eyes. They carried the same look as when they met for the first time. Back then she stupidly chose to ignore what his eyes were telling her because she was too afraid to believe what she saw in them, but this time she was smarter with almost year-long, life-changing experience, and wasn't willing to run away like she wanted last time. She was ready to take her Serkan back, slowly and probably not too easily, but she wasn't going to give up on him.
Although knowing Serkan's explosive and sometimes still unpredicting nature, it all could happen in the blink of an eye. He just had to make a decision about them, and she hoped it would be the right one.
Eda walked to Serkan and sat next to him, not saying anything. Sirius ran to her, and she started to pet him, feeling Serkan's intense gaze on her as he was watching their interaction.
"I was looking for his toys, but there is nothing here." He said after a minute of silence, pointing with his head at his house, and started to pet his dog with Eda. "I can't find my books and any of my stuff either."
"I can show you where your stuff are, if you want to." She answered, looking at him with a small smile, which he reciprocated.
"I would appreciate it a lot. Nothing here is as it was, and I hate changes."
"You moved out, taking everything to a new place." Eda got up and turned toward the gate, followed by Serkan. Sirius started to make circles around them, panting and barking happily.
"Why?" He asked with a small frown as they walked along the path. "It was because you moved in with me?"
"At that point, no." Eda shook her head and looked sadly at him. It was still a hard topic for her to talk about. "It was at the time when we were broken up. You didn't want to stay here because of your father and your resentment toward him for not wanting to take responsibility for the accident that caused my parents' death. It was even before your falling out with him after you told him you don't have a father, never had, and ordered him to move out."
