"Aydan hanim, Serkan bey is here!" Seyfi exclaimed in an excited voice, running toward the dining room, where a table was set for breakfast.

Aydan jumped to her feet and put her hand to her chest, gasping and trying to control her shaking voice. "Where is my son? Did you see him?"

"His car is parked behind the main gate."

"Maybe it's Eda. She didn't give a sign of life since yesterday."

"Anne?"

Aydan turned to see Serkan standing in the hall, and her eyes watered. She quickly crossed the distance between them and hugged her son tight.

"Serkancim. Is that really you?" She sobbed. "I've got a call from Engin that you're alive and back, but when I came to Artlife, you weren't there."

"Call from Engin that I'm alive?" Serkan frowned. "And what do you mean, you came to Artlife? You can leave the house?"

"Of course I can." Aydan kept crying, embracing him. "Eda helped me, holding my hand. She is our angel. We were dying from fear about you for two months. I thought I lost you. Where were you? Where were you yesterday?"

"I was with Eda." Serkan answered reluctantly.

"Eda?" Aydan repeated, looking at her son with hope. "So you two..."

"I don't want to talk about it." He cut her sharply, taking a step back.

Aydan looked at him with shock. "Serkan! Eda is your fiancee!"

"I don't remember her."

"Don't tell me you are with Selin now."

Serkan flinched at his mother's angry voice and looked at her with squinted eyes. "Wasn't that what you always wanted? Your perfect daughter-in-law?"

"Serkan, if you continue like this, you're risking making the biggest mistake of your life!"

"I was never allowed to make mistakes, maybe it's time." He said through his teeth and spun on his heel, going toward the front door.

"Where are you going?!" Aydan called after him in even bigger shock than before, seeing his cold demeanor.

"To work." He was already out of the door.

Aydan and Seyfi walked to the window, looking incredulously at Serkan, who approached his car in fast, angry strides, jumped behind the wheel, slammed the door, and drove away with the tears screeching.

"What happened to him?" She said in a weak voice. "Engin said that Serkan lost the year of his memories, but he never was that angry."

"Maybe it's Selin hanim doing? God knows what she told him."

"I don't know." Aydan said more to herself than Seyfi. "Did Eda answer her phone?"

"No. It's a voicemail all the time."

"Tamam." She rubbed her face. "If Selin comes again, do not let anybody open a gate and send a guard not to let her get from the stable part. She didn't bother to tell me that my son was alive. I don't want to see her, and I don't want her near Serkan. Prepare Serkan's old room. He should stay here, not alone in his old house."

"Of course, Aydan hanim." Seyfi nodded with determination. "I won't let her put a foot on the estate."

Engin entered the Artlife and walked toward his office. He automatically glanced toward the conference room and halted, seeing Serkan sitting in his usual spot and working as if nothing happened. This sight was almost surreal, given the past two months months events.
